Mira was a stunning young lady. She was raised by her aunt and uncle in secrecy , for her parents died in a "forest fire", as she was told. No one knew she even existed. No one except for her aunt, uncle and one special young man.

This young man first came to know Mira as he was walking on his way to a special higher learning school designed for exceptional mages. People like him come from all around the land to go to this school, which just happened to be right in front of Mira's house.

When walking with his friends, Lucas tripped on an overgrown weed in front of the abandoned house. He could see the windows broken and boarded, the roof shattered ready to cave, the yard overgrown into a green, thorny mass. All in all, the house seemed as if no living being could be capable of living in such a terror of a house.

As he stood up, he can see that his friends already left him, and instead stood a girl about his age. She stared at him like he was some kind of monster, when in fact the "monster" was herself.

After a while, Mira stuck her hand out to help Lucas to his feet.

"Are you okay?" were the only words that left the girl's mouth. She was desperate to leave, but yet intrigued by who this boy could be. After all, she has never made contact with any other human nor mage all her life, excluding her guardians.

Lucas replied, "Yes, thank you."

Mira gave a quick nod and hurried back into the abandoned house. Dumbfounded, Lucas found himself wandering not so far behind her.

He wanted to know who this girl was, why he had never seen her before.

---------------------

His questions were answered when he heard a middle aged woman speak, "You went outside?!"

Mira flinched at the unexpected yelling, though she knew she would be scolded. "It was only for a minute," she mumbled, "Nothing bad happened."

A man around the age of forty walked into the kitchen where Mira and her aunt were.

"Did anyone see you?" He asked.

Mira stayed quiet hoping that her uncle wouldn't hurt him. However, her uncle had different plans.

"Who is it?!" He said with fury in his eyes.

Mira met that fury with pure begging, "He did nothing wrong, it was my fault. I tripped him - don't you have a class to teach?" She asked, trying to avoid his inevitable question, and following punishment, as much as possible.

Lucas was confused, was it not a weed that tripped him? This girl was nowhere to be seen. How could she possibly- unless...

"It doesn't matter."

The man turned and walked towards where Lucas was hiding, who was shaking faster the closer the male came.

"He saw you, and we can't let that be." He said.

Mira whined, "But-"

"No buts." He interrupted as he grabbed the terrified Lucas by the hair and pulled him out of his hiding place. "So, what should we do with you, Lucas."

"P-professor?" Lucas trembled beneath the hand of his idol. The man that held his head like a rag doll was the only man that ever cared for him.

However, the way this is looking, Lucas's idol may never care about him ever again.
