I was up all night and I had a headache the next morning. It was a Friday and I had the day off. When I got up from my bed, I got dressed in jeans and a black tee. I curled my blonde hair and put it in a ponytail. My mom was already at work and I had nothing to do. I decided to go to a Tulsa, for the weekend. I'll leave my mom a note, telling her where I am.
Hi Mom,
I decided to go to Tulsa for the weekend. I want to go see dad, and what he's like. I have money and I brought clothes with me. Don't worry about me I'll be fine. I just wanted to tell you where I was before you worry. See you on Monday.
Love, Katie. After I wrote out my note I put it on the fridge so my mom could see it. I packed a little bag with things I needed for the weekend. Once I was done, I put everything in the car and was on my way. I was listening to music and thinking about what dad was like. I stopped a few times for gas and some snacks on the way. By the time I got to Tulsa, it was about 8:30 at night. I parked my car and I started to walk around. When I was walking, it was dark and I bumped into someone. "Watch it!" He yelled . "I'm sorry," I said walking away. Some people are just rude, I thought to myself. While I was walking, I went to a gas station. "Hi, could I have a-," I stopped and I saw his name tag. "Sodapop!" I said excitedly. "Yes?" He asked back so confused. "Oh sorry, I'm Sandy's daughter, and I came to find you," I said smiling. "You're, you're my daughter?" He was freaking out. "If you're my daughter, what's my name?" He asked me. "Your name, your name is Sodapop Curtis," I said back trying to calm him down. "It's just like mine," I said as he smiled. "My name is Katiepop," I said smiling back. "Does Sandy know where you are, did you ask her if you could come?" Soda asked. "No, I didn't ask her to come here, I'm 17 and I left her a note before she came home." I said back. " I don't think she'll worry," I said looking down. "You look just like me, blue eyes, and blonde hair. How about you come back to my house after my shift here?" He said stocking the shelves with things. "Yeah, I would love to," I said walking to the door. "You could stay, my shifts over in 30 minutes," he said before I opened the door. "Ok, sure. Do you need any help with anything 'round here?" I ask sitting on a stool. "No, it's ok we don't need any help," he said walking back to the counter. "We?" I ask as a man walked out of the back with car grease on his face.
