Hunter and Charlie became fast friends. The two walking together through the city. Sometimes they'd talk, sometimes they'd simply enjoy each other's company.
"I've always wondered what hell was like" Charlie said one night and Hunter blinked,
"You...wonder about hell?"
"Yes, what's it like?"
"Well..." Hunter began, thinking over his home, "it's...there's nine sectors. Each do their own thing...it's a city really, we have a countryside though I do not recommend going. The castle can see all nine sectors from the very top"
"You have a monarchy?" Charlie asked, raising an eyebrow and Hunter nodded,
"Yes".
Hunter talked to Charlie a bit more about hell. About bloodstone and how it was created, about the different sorts of wildlife hell had and about the different kinds of demons.
"In return, would you tell me about shadowhunters?" Hunter asked once he was done speaking and Charlie nodded,
"Of course, it's only polite".
Charlie spoke of how shadowhunters were created, what they were made for and how runes worked, about the clave in Alicante and how many supernatural beings were called Downworlders.
"And you aren't allowed to fall in love with a downworlder if you're a shadowhunter" Charlie said, looking at Hunter with their big blue eyes with something in them that made Hunter's heart ache for Charlie.
"Unfortunate..." Hunter said with sincerity and Charlie gave a half smile,
"I don't listen to the rules anyways usually...would you take me to hell?"
Hunter stopped and stared at Charlie who seemed sincere. Hunter frowned,
"Charlie that's a bad idea"
"Why? I have you to protect me" Charlie said, "please? I want to understand you better"
Hunter was rendered speechless. No one had ever said those words to him before and he found himself nodding,
"Fine...same time around tomorrow then?"
"Deal" Charlie said, quickly kissing Hunters cheek before they winked at him, "see you tomorrow"
With that, they walked away, Hunter touching his cheek gently and staring at Charlie as they walked,
"Yea...tomorrow" Hunter breathed before snapping back to hell.
