Chapter fourteen

I woke up in the middle of the night because Slade was tossing and turning in his sleep. He was mumbling and I couldn't make out what he was saying. I shook him gently. "Hey, hey, hey. It's ok. Your ok. Im right here, your ok." I reassured him quietly. He just nodded once and I sat up, leaning against the wall. He put his head in my lap and sighed. "It was just a dream." I whispered "Go back to sleep, I've got you." I ran my fingers through his hair until he was asleep. I noticed Oliver watching from under the hammock. He opened his mouth to say something but I put my finger to my lips, shushing him. I waved my hands in front of me. We had learned sign language so that we could talk behind mom and dads backs about secret stuff. He signed 'You two are cute together' I signed back 'thanks' 'where did you go' he asked 'the beach' 'ooh the beach' 'shut the fuck up Oliver' 'haha, wait, did you two' I shook my head and looked at my lap 'you did, I'm so proud that my little sister got laid' 'shut the fuck up Oliver!' I signed violently. He silently laughed and went back to bed. I slowly nodded off before falling asleep.

In the morning I woke up alone in bed. Slade was messing with the radio trying to get it to stop making the annoying wiring noise. "One quiet morning. Thats all I ask for." I said as I climbed down from the hammock. "Sorry love." Slade mumbled. Shado looked confused, like she had missed some important detail. Which, in fact she had. Slade and I were dating. I walked over to Slade and gently kicked him with the toe of my boot. "Scoot." He moved over and I sat beside him. "Ya know, if I were a machine, I would be making weird noises if I were poorly hooked up to a power source too." I said resting my head on his shoulder. "You plugged it in wrong dumbass. Love you." I sighed, laughing lightly and plugged the radio into the battery properly. "There we go." I said calmly. "So, today we're gonna kill Fires right? So, who's on the murder train?!" I said excitedly "No. Oliver, Shado and I are going to attack Fires and his men while you stay here incase we get captured." Slade said handing me a walki-talki. I pouted "But I don't wanna stay." "You need to listen to reason." He said. He had a point but today I felt like being stubborn. "But reason is boring." I whined. "Oh well." I growled at him and he raised his eyebrows. Oliver pat my head and hugged me goodbye. He signed at me 'love you' 'love you to little fucker' Oliver laughed at me and left the plane. Shado hugged me and Followed Oliver out. I didn't know her that well but hugging was just a girl thing. Slade kissed the top of my head and whispered. "Just hide in the woods ten clicks away so that you aren't taken. I know what you can do and we need you as our secret weapon." I nodded and hugged him then they were gone. I followed about ten feet behind them so that I wasn't noticed. This was gonna be a fucking long day.
