Chapter 4

Serenity's POV
After School
"So Ember, you still haven't told us why you freaked out at lunch" I say casually leaning over the couch and leaning on her shoulder at the same time.
"er.... ah...... Todd! you're home early!" She yells dashing out of the room to give him a hug
"er... Yes I am Ember. Girls." He says giving us a strange look because we are all hanging over the couch starring at Ember intently.
"Did something happen?" Todd asks looking down at Em while asking.
She shakes her head really fast as the rest of us all nod our heads. Aki who had been laying upside down on the lay-z-boy now turned right side up and smiled at Todd.
"SHE'S HIDING SOMETHING!!!!" She screams while pointing at Ember and Em shrieks in surprise as she turns and hides behind Todd.
"What do you mean she's hiding something?" Todd asks confused and turns to look at Em with a serious yet worried look.
"She has her block up and she barely ate or talked at all today." I tell him after he turned back around to look at us questioningly.
"Ember hunny.." Todd starts but she shakes her head vigorously.
"No, I'm fine guys, really" Em says without looking into our eyes. She turns her face to the floor instead.
Akira looks at her funny but then she smiles and stands up and skips off only to disappear before actually leaving the room.
All of a sudden Aki is now sitting on top of Rae and swinging her legs.
"Lana and Maureen are home" Aki sings in a horrible and creepy voice.
Rae shoves her off her lap and runs to go see her mum. Like her real mum. Maureen is a half demon with fire powers and a were-wolf she is the only mum from our experiment that survived and none of us know who our fathers are.
I turn around to wait for Maureen and Lana to come into the house so that we can see if we actually are having training tonight.
I look over and I see that Todd and Em are having a quiet discussion but I can't hear anything from either person both telepathically or normally.
It's like neither of them are there.

Akira's POV
After school before heading home.
I am putting my books in my bag so that I can bring them home for homework when I feel a little tap on my shoulder.
I gasp and spin around to come face to face with Aaron.
I put my hand to my heart and take a deep breath.
"God Aaron, you scared me!" I exclaim.
"Sorry" He mumbles sheepishly before a smile slips easily onto his face.
"It's fine..." I reply before slowly letting my voice fade.
"Come with me." He says while wiggling his eyebrows at me and I just laugh at the funky gesture.
"Okay then Mr. Eyebrow." I tell him and I walk beside him as we head to the deserted corridor of the school. The part of the school that nobody is ever in except if you have a class down here.
