Akira’s POV
"THEY'RE HERE! THE ORGANIZATION THEY'RE IN THE WOODS" I hear Emmie’s voice shrieking from the lower levels of the house. I feel my heart stop in my chest. What? No, no, no, no, that can’t be right, they can’t be here, they cannot have found us.
Before I even give my legs permission to run they are. I am sprinting down the stairs, forgetting all about teleporting or anything like that. I hear Rae, Spooky and Ren following closely behind me.
"Lana sold us out. They're out there right now waiting until tonight to strike." Emmie says to whatever Maureen had asked right before we all got down the stairs. I stare at her wide eyed. This cannot be happening. Please, please, please tell me this is all a really big nightmare and I am going to wake up soon. Someone? Anyone? please.
"They're here." Emmie mutter’s to us all again as we just stand there staring in horror "They're here."
“What can we do? How do we stop this?” Maureen starts asking as she looks at us all with clear panic in her eyes. “What do we do?”
“We need to move, and move fast, we need to pack, pack up and leave to run.” Todd says panicked as well. We all understand and go to leave when Ember shouts.
“No, no we can’t.”
“What? Ember we need to…” Maureen starts but stops. Ember is on her feet staring at us with blank, unfeeling, golden eyes.
“It doesn’t matter. We don’t have time. If they see us all leaving they will come, if we wait until the last minute they will be here. We have our powers now, and they will stop at nothing to have that, to have us back. If we want to have any sort of normal life ever again these people must die.” She states in a monotone and I feel my whole state of being fall.
Ember wasn’t wrong, we were powerful now, we had our strength and magic and they knew that. They would stop at nothing to have us.
“What do you expect us to do Ember? Just sit here and wait until the Organization comes barging into our lives and destroy us?” Ren ask’s Emmie almost angrily.
“THEY WANT US DEAD OR ALIVE SERENITY!” Emmie yells, taking steps towards Ren. Even though Emmie is like completely tiny comparatively to the rest of us we all shrink back away from her anger. Her whole body seems to glow and almost pulse, as if she has a bubble around her. “They will stop at nothing, NOTHING to have us.” Emmie adds as if an after thought.
“Em, calm down.” Rae says calmly, taking a small step towards a very angry Emmie-bear before Spooky grabs her arm and practically drags her behind him.
“Rae, no, she’s not in control.” Spooky says with a hard glare at Emmie and we all jump as a loud snarl rips from between Emmie’s lips. My eyes open wide as I watch Em start to flicker like the light of a candle.
I step towards Emmie calmly, Ren reaches for me to stop me but I swerve away from her hand and grab Emmie’s arm, teleporting us into the garden.
“Emmie, calm down okay? We need you to be calm and the voice of reason, not freaking out.” I tell her. We’re standing in the middle of the maze of flowers, a calming place to sooth an almost hysterical Emmie.
