Kageyama POV
I couldn't put my finger on it, but I was honestly a little nervous about going to Hinatas house.

Sure, by now we're good friends, but I've never been to anyone's house that I'm not forced to go to.

I jump when Hinata taps me on the shoulder. He smiles and jerks his head, as if to say, 'come on'

We walk to his house.

It's not small, but it's definitely not as big as I thought it would be.

When we go inside, he puts his finger to his lips and says, 'shhh'

I didn't realise it, but that was the closest to speech that I've ever gotten out of him.

He slowly opens a door not too far from the front door and goes in quietly gesturing for me to wait outside.

I slowly peer in, curiously.

There's a black haired woman laying on the floor. Hinatas mum maybe? The room was pretty messy and the bed was right next to her.

Hinata takes the sheets off of the bed and puts it on her.

He leaves the room and closes the door slowly and mouths 'sorry' to me.

We play outside for about an hour, I throw the ball up to him and he spikes it over the make shift net he has in his backyard.

It looks like he made it himself, from string and zip ties.

I suggested we take a break and he looks at the time.

He makes an 'eek' type noise and writes a note saying:

I'm really sorry, we gotta go pick my sister up from the child care centre

I sigh and smile at him, giving him a thumbs up.

When we're walking to the centre, I say to him, "Is that where you met Oikawa?"

He nods.

When we get there, a worker taps him on the shoulder.

"Who's this Hinata" she says, slowly and at me. "I haven't seen anyone else come here with you besides your mother"

She hands him a release form and as he's signing it talks to me.

"What's your name, kiddo?"

"K...Kageyama ma'am"

"Kageyama? Tobio Kageyama? Oikawas talked about you once or twice"

"So Hinata did meet Oikawa here."

"Yeah, I was the one who introduced them actually"

"It must be hard for Hinata, you know being deaf and all"

"I don't think being deaf is the hardest part for him"

"Why wouldn't it be?"

"Well if you think about it, he's always been like that, and even when he still came here, he was always happy. Much smaller things are the ones that annoy him; his height for instance"

"And what about his parents?"

"Hmm... I'm not sure if I should be the one to tell you this but what the hell. You see when he was just a boy his dad died. Hinata doesn't remember him at all actually, and Natsu wasn't born yet."

"A...and his mum?"

She looked at me down and blankly.

She broke her stare when Hinata gave her the form back signed. She smiled and thanked him.

When I looked over at Hinata, there was a small girl by his side.

If she had been a little taller, I definitely could have mistaken one from the other.

"Shouyo" she asks him "Who's this?"

He signs something to her, I notice the characters 'K A G E Y A M A'

She looks at me.

I wave awkwardly.

She sticks out her hand for a handshake and gives me a toothy grin.

Even their smiles are the same.

I return the handshake, and smile back at her as best I can.

I try to make conversation with her on the way home, but she does most of the talking.

She's an interesting person, just like Hinata, except she can actually talk.

It's easy to talk to her, it's just like talking to Hinata expect we aren't passing notes.

When we finally get home, we end up in Hinatas room watching a movie on his laptop.

I had to change a few settings so the sound came on but I still kept the subtitles big.

"Shouyo, sweetie" I hear from outside the door as it swings open. Hinata obviously didn't here so I nudged him until he looked.

Hinatas mum was standing by the door.

"Oh, I didn't know we had a guest" she says, waving at me. I wave back and greet her.

She looked really tired, and she spoke softly too. If her eyes hadn't been the same deep hazel as Hinatas, I never would have guessed they were related.

Her hair was pitch black and her skin was really pale.

"I'm going to be gone for a couple of days, so do you mind dropping Natsu off for the rest of the week? I would stay but I have some... urgent business"

I was so surprised at how much she was saying and how fast she was talking.

I wasn't surprised when Natsu used JSL to talk to Hinata earlier on today, but she wasn't even trying to talk slowly.

Her hands were behind her back and she wasn't signing him anything.

Hinata looked at her totally concentrated, obviously finding it hard to understand what she was saying.

After about a minute or two he sighed and nodded.

"One more thing" she says. "Can I talk to you for a second"

Hinata gets up and goes with her.

Hinata POV
I follow her into the living room, honestly a little scared.

I was really hoping she would wake up after Kageyama left before something like this happened.

From what I could understand she said something about,

gone, days, dropping, Natsu, week, business

I think I get what she's getting at.

When she takes me into the living room, from what I can make out she says with a smile,

"Your news friends handsome, don't you think?"

I nod nervously.

When I do her expression changes completely. She goes from her usual tired, blank expression to an angry one.

She shouts at me, and although I can't hear anything I can tell that's its not loud enough for Kageyama to hear, but since Natsus room is right there I guess she can hear it.

She shakes me aggressively and it makes my head spin.

She says the same thing to me every time she shouts at me, so I know what she's saying now.

"Why are you always so damned quiet? Say something! There's nothing wrong with you so just say something! I'm your mother so it's the least you can do!"

She stares at me and pants, not taking a breath for her whole argument.

I want to.
I want to be able to say something.
I want nothing to be wrong with me.

I try, just for her.
I manage to almost squeeze out a:

"S...S...So..rry"

She lets go of me and smiles.
She kisses me on the forehead and walks out the door.
