"I suggest you take cover and not get involved unless you want Queen Calanthe's guests to know what you really are," Mousesack warned.

I did what Mousesack told me when they showed Lord Urcheon of Erlenwald to be a cursed human being and Queen Calanthe ordered Geralt to killed him.

"Shxt," I whispered.

"Slay This Beast!" Queen Calanthe ordered.

The soldiers would try to kill Lord Urcheon when Geralt got involved immediately which upset the Lioness of Cintra.

"KILL THEM BOTH!" She shouted.

Chaos has ensued so I kept my distance when Queen Calanthe got involved and pointed the sword at Geralt.

"Stop....STOP!!!"

Lord Urcheon confirmed that the curse was true and how he saved Pavetta's father, choosing the Law of Surprise as his payment.

"Stupid bastard, better if you would've let him die!" Queen Calanthe snapped.

"You knew he'd come....and you pushed me to kill him," Geralt stated.

"And you....carousing with the beast that swindled your stupid father!"

"Tis no swindle. Asking for payment with the Law of Surprise is as old as mankind itself," Eist stated.

"Don't lecture me, Eist," Queen Calanthe warned.

"It's an honest gamble. As likely to be rewarded with a bumper crop as a newborn pup. Or....a child of surprise," he explained, "He could not know. Destiny has determined the surprise be Pavetta."

"When I heard King Roegner had returned to find a child on the way....I abandoned all thought of claiming the Law of Surprise," Urcheon said, "I knew....I knew no woman would ever accept me like this. And so I waited. I waited until the twelfth bell when the curse breaks. I never intended to meet her. Just to watch from afar."

"Until destiny intervened....and our hearts collided," Pavetta revealed.

I couldn't help but look at Geralt who turn to look at my direction as well.

"Honor destiny's wish....or unleash its wrath upon us," Mousesack warned.

"There is no us! I bow to no law made by men who never bore a child!" Queen Calanthe stated, "Is there a man amongst you who does not cower before destiny? You, Witcher....who has known of every fang and claw, are you afraid too?"

"No. I've seen mothers lash themselves raw over the death of a child, believing they crossed destiny, ignoring the stench of the fifty other children in the plague cart outside," Geralt answered, "Destiny....helps people believe there's an order to this horseshxt. There isn't....but a promise made must be honored. As true for a commoner as it is for a queen."

After Pavetta stated that she wanted to be with Urcheon, or as she calls him, Duny, it seemed Queen Calanthe was accepting destiny until she took out her dagger.

"NOOOOOO!!!"

Suddenly, Pavetta unleashed her dormant primal abilities and everyone was blown away except me as I could hear her saying something in elven.
