After filming 5 videos in a row and brainstorming for like 4 hours, the boys were exhausted. So Eddy said yes when Brett suggested to watch some movies and relax. They ordered some Chinese takeaway and sat comfortably in their couch.

The movie was not bad tho but it's also not that good. They sat closed to each other and enjoyed the comfortable silent between them. Eddy was so tired that he couldn't focus on the film anymore, the sleepiness hit him. Without knowing it, he fell asleep on Brett's shoulder.

Brett looked down at Eddy who started wrapping around Brett's waist, using him as a giant teddy bear. You haven' t changed, Eddy. He smiled as some of his bittersweet old memories flashed back in his mind...

Brett felt he needed to ask someone to the prom. He did not understand why he thought this was necessary, but his instinct was trying to hide something. Girl was the only right choice, right? Brett thought to himself.

He plucked up his courage and asked a girl in his biology class. No fancy plot, not like any cheesy teenage shows. He just causally asked the girl after their class was dismissed. He didn't expect the girl to say yes tho, cuz he barely spoke with girls anyway. Things that matter in his high school were only Eddy, his violin, and the orchestra.

"Did you ask someone to the prom?" Brett asked Eddy mindlessly while they walked back home after school.
"No, I have decided not going." Eddy answered with a bitter smile. Brett could sense something, but he didn't say anything, instead, he jokingly asked: "Because you didn't have any date?"

"I have too many things to do. I need to practice. Orchestra rehearsal is coming up and I haven't start practicing. And I also have lots of homework and essays to write. My mom is forcing me study for the med-test too." Eddy stopped, and sighed, "But yeah, I don't get a date. I am too afraid to ask."

Brett was surprised, so does that mean Eddy had the target person he wanted to ask to prom? There's a weird feeling coming up in Brett's heart. Jealous? It can't be.

"So you got yourself a date?" Eddy asked. Brett couldn't understand the emotions shown on his best friend's face. "Yeah, just a random girl."

"Oh." Eddy smiled just as warm hearted as he always was, "have fun then." He continued as he opened his front door, "Don't make a fool of yourself at the prom, seeya."

...

On the day of the prom, as expected, Eddy didn't show up. Brett found himself can't enjoy the prom without his best friend. During the whole dance, the only thing in his mind was the image of Eddy practicing. He even hoped Eddy would suddenly show up and surprise him.

On the other hand, his date did enjoy the prom. Before the dance was over, she said she need to go out for some air and asked Brett came along with her. So they walked out of the school hall.

"Uhmm, thanks for asking me to the prom..." the girl shyly said, and then she leaned closer. Brett was shocked by the fact that the girl was trying to kiss him. He stepped back immediately. "Err sorry...I can't..."

The girl was confused and frustrated, "I thought you asked me to the prom because you like me." Brett didn't know how to response, the only thought in his mind was go back to Eddy.
"I had a crush on you for a long time, you are really attractive when you play the violin. I went to every concert of your orchestra. You are so talented and cute. I really like you." The girl continued and stepped forward trying to kiss him again.

"Sorry." Brett couldn't take this anymore. He wanted to escape. As he turned around, the girl's voice stopped him, "You like the other boy who also plays the violin, do you?" "No, and bye." Brett just wanna avoided any other conversation, but the girl's question stuck in his mind. He rushed back but didn't stop at his home. Instead, he unconsciously heading to Eddy's house.

"You like the other boy who also plays the violin, do you?"
You like Eddy, do you?

I like...Eddy?

Eddy seemed totally surprised when he opened the door, he was still holding his violin. Well, he was practicing of course. Brett greeted him with a tired smile, and Eddy let him in. Turned out that both of Eddy's parents went out of town for some business stuffs, and his sister was staying in college at weekends. So it's just only the two of them. "Can I stay here tonight?"

"yeah of course you can stay, I am bored being alone anyway." Eddy answered and then joked as he put away his violin, "Did you make a fool of yourself at the prom? I warned you before tho."

"You could almost say that." Brett sighed while texted his mom about his sleepover. "Do you wanna talk about it?" Eddy could sense something had happened to his best friend. "Let's just watch some movie, I am tired." Brett actually didn't wanna talk about it. Too many things were going on in his poor head and they were all about Eddy. The girl's voice still echoed in his mind.

"You like the other boy who also plays the violin, do you?"

"Ok." Eddy respected his friend, "But remember, you can share everything with me, I am always be there for you." The same weird feeling Brett didn't understand flowed in his veins again. What's wrong with me?

They watched movie after movie that night, eventually Eddy fell asleep on Brett's shoulder. That strange feeling grew stronger as Eddy unconsciously adjusted himself and wrapped around Brett's waist, as if he was a giant teddy bear.

Brett felt his face started burning in the dark by the fact that Eddy was cuddling with him. He felt like there were thousands of butterflies flying in his stomach. He could sense Eddy's hot breaths on his neck. His mind went blank. That's when Brett finally admit to himself.

Yeah, I think I like Eddy.
