Ruby

I think I'm in some kind of daze or something, I can't think straight about anything and for some reason it made me smile. It didn't take long though to see the reason for this inner peace when Nick pulled me tighter into his chest.

...Did we really just have sex? That's so weird, but so... right? I definitely don't regret it I just can't believe it actually happened, especially when I really thought I'd lost him forever. I was interrupted from my thoughts when teeth grazed my ear lobe and lips pressed against the hollow underneath my ear.

“Nick.” I meant it to be a scoulding, but it came out all girly and giggly, even Nick laughed before he squeezed me tighter.

“You ok baby?” He mumured to me but not really listening for an answer since he was too interested in my neck, nuzzling me there and pecking too.

I couldn't stop the moan even if I wanted to, and I'd given up on my voice, Nick controls it now so the needy, breathy response he got was not a surprise to me. “Mm, Nick.”

“I love it when you say my name like that. Are you ok Shorty?” When he asked me this time he was definitely looking for an answer. He turned my head so that we were facing each other and he looked almost anxious about what I was going to say; he's so cute.

“Yes, never been better." He smiled big and nuzzled my nose briefly, clearly about to swoop back in for a kiss and I just managed to halt him. My index finger was pressed against his lips that were in a killer pout, his eyes looking like a confused puppy's. "You should probably go though.”

Immdiately Nick took my hand from his mouth and held it to his cheek instead. “What? Ruby, we just, we – mated! We’re mated now, I’m not going anywhere. I thought we got passed this.” He wasn't happy and neither was I; I don't want him to go but I also don't want him to get caught here and get himself killed.

Taking his face in my hands I kissed his lips softly, letting him know that I didn't want him to go. “No, I mean you should go because my Dad could be back any minute.”

It didn't matter that my voice was soft and that I was being honest, Nick still wasn't happy. “I’m not leaving you here with that piece of Hunter trash! If I go you’re coming with me and you’re staying with me.” He sounded so final and it was kind of surprising to me, usually I'm the one who puts a foot down.

Taking a diffrenet approach, I burried my head in his chest and smiled when he tucked my face into the crook of his neck. “Nick please don’t be difficult about this.”

Instantly Nick pulled backed to stare at me.“Me? What about you? You’re coming with me Ruby.”

“No I’m not. Think about it ok? If I leave with you now my Dad will know that something is up, and then he’ll go postal and start some kind of crusade and all hell will break loose, just please think this through.”

I could tell he knew I was right, but Nick was starting to get upset and I hated it when his voice turned sad and his eyes quickly followed. “But I don’t want to leave you, we’re supposed to stay together now, always.”

“Nick –“ He shook his head quickly and caressed the left side of my neck and I became putty in his hands. My body began to curve against his and it still wasn't close enough.

“Shh, you see this mark here?" He didn't need to gesture, I knew it was under his fingers and it had   a connection to every nerve in my body, which is why he likes it so much. "This means we’re bound together, our souls mated too.”

Souls? Mated? Sounds a little far fetched. “... That’s, uh... cute but, what does it have to do with you leaving?”

Nick's eyes popped out of his head. “Cute? It’s romantic ok? Anyway, it has everything to do with me going nowhere without you. We’re bound now.” He told me seriously, wrapping me up in his arms again.
