Love her or hate her, It's undeniable that Pearl is the closest thing Steven has ever had to a real mother. They haven't always had the best relationship due to her long time obsession with Rose/Pink, but it's clear as day(unless you look at the trainwreck known as SUF) that she loves him.
The mother/son bond between Pearl and Steven was an often glossed over part of SU. We never saw the two of them really spend much time together and bond other than Rose's Scabbard. And I think having a mother/son bond develop off screen is one of the stupidest and laziest things any creator writer can do and Rebecca and her writers deserve to be called out for such laziness, no matter how much her supporters try and defend her lazy writing and half assed story telling.
However, what if that bond was truly put to the test? What if there was a secret that is even worse than Rose being Pink Diamond? And what happens when an outsider threatens to reveal that secret?
Will Pearl and Steven's mother/son bond survive? And will the CGs as a whole survive or splinter from within?
