I woke up this morning different. I didn't see the light in the darkness when I opened my eyes. I saw the hall light, so I slipped out of bed and pulled on my Bulls sweat shirt and ripped jeans and went out into the hall. When I came into the living room I saw Peattie sitting on the couch watching the morning news. My steps creaked on the old floor, he turned wagging his little tail at me. "Hi baby good morning!" I said with glee. I walked over to the fridge reading the note my mom left. "Feed Peattie and have a good day! Love you so much -mom" I grabbed the carton of orange juice and smiled at the ground because I haven't felt this good in what seems like forever.
