“Para akong sumabak sa Q and A Round ng Miss Universe doon ah!” eksaheradang sambit ni Charlene nang makalabas siya sa HR Room nitong firm na pinuntahan namin ngayon.
“How was it?” natatawang kong sagot sa kanya.
“What is the biggest mistake you’ve done in your life and what would you do to make it right?” tuloy tuloy pa niyang sabi habang ginagaya pa ang tono ng interviewer.
This is only our second stop, and we still have three to go, so we better be fast on our toes para madali kaming matapos.
“Wait, Girl!
She insisted that we should use their car since our family driver isn’t available because he accompanied mom to visit some of her friends.
“What’s with the hurry?” nakakunot na tanong ni Charlene pagkabukas nya ng pinto ng sasakyan.
“Wala naman, I just want to finish this day, so I can go home early, and you know we still have three firms to go right?”
“Yes, I know, but can you please wait for me, my gosh, katatapos ko pa lang doon sa interview tas bigla- bigla ka na lang aalis, and besides why we need to finish all on our list, marami pa namang araw diba?”
“Hmm, Manong tayo na po,” Sabi ko na lamang sa driver, not minding the rants of Charlene who’s already looking in her compact mirror. We visited two more firms after that. Before the clock hits 2 pm, we decided to eat lunch even it’s already late in a fast food on our way to our last stop, the one I’m really aiming for. The driver dropped us in front so we immediately headed inside the fast food chain.
“Grabe, It’s physically and mentally exhausting palang maghanap nang firm for our practicum, what more kung naghahanap na tayo nang trabaho right?” ani ni Charlene pagkaupo namin.
I didn’t imagine that this day would really exhaust me.
“Ako na lang oorder sa ating dalawa, what do you want? Tanong sa akin ni Charlene
“Anything will do” matipid kong tugon habang nakangiti.
It’s really good to have Charlene as a friend, though I’m a bit cold and distant she still treats me good. I know Charlene for some quite time since I go back studying. I’m older than her may be almost one year. She’s always nice to me and she treat me as a friend even back then, though I doubt I reciprocate the same courtesy to her.
“My god! Im so famished as hell! Let’s eat!” She has her Chicken Tonkatsu, while she got me Chicken fillet. Not bad for a late lunch though.
