11:26 p.m.
Nothing, nothing, nothing. Am I the only one in this ocean? I looked above the surface. It was late. I’m exhausted. I looked down and saw a fish. Can I talk to fish? Ariel can so why can’t I?
“Hey! Can you tell me where I am?” I yelled at the fish
He swam up towards me.
“Hi. I’m Spencer. Are you lost?” he answered in a very high, squeaky voice.
“Yes I am lost. Can you tell me where I am? I’m Kaela, nice to meet you.” I replied.
“You’re almost to Mermaidia. Do you see the current up ahead?” I nodded.
“Keep swimming beside that. Make sure not to get sucked through. It’s near impossible to get back out.” he continued.
“Thank you so much Spencer!” I answered. He smiled, then we parted ways. I did as he said and followed the current.
Monday, June 2nd 12:01 a.m.
I’m finally getting somewhere! My only question is, what is Mermaidia? I guess I’ll know soon enough. I kept following the current, but I feel like I’ve been swimming forever!
7:26 a.m.
There is a light coming from around the corner. I hear laughter, music, people! It sounds about a half a mile away, Mermaidia! I’m almost there! When I turned the corner, I stopped and stared. It was beautiful. Everything was shiny and gold. Laughter and happiness was booming out of every window. There were merfolk swimming everywhere you looked. And in every direction, you can see a beautiful reef, The Great Barrier Reef. It was beautiful here.
