Chapter 4 - Interview

"Please Izuku sit down". Principal Nezu instructed Izuku as he pointed his paw toward a chair. Izuku slowly made his way to the seat that he was motioned towards. Izuku sat down and Tsukauchi sat next to him. "Hello Midoriya, I'm a detective". Izuku nodded and faced the man that stood directing in front of him. "I just need you to answer some questions and then I can get out of your hair. Okay"?

Izuku nodded "O-okay".
"No need to be nervous Midoriya" Tsukauchi said with a smile.
"Should my mom be here"? Izuku asked.

"Trust me, there's no need. For as of right now I am responsible for you". Nezu answered.
"I was the detective that was supposed to be looking into your missing case, and when I spoke with your mother she told me all she knew for sure is what you told her; that you took an internship for an unnamed company. True?"
Izuku looked into the man's skeptical eyes. 'In this situation it'd be best if I told the truth or a small part of it at least' Izuku thought.

"Yeah, that's what I told her".
"So it that the truth"? Tsukauchi asked.
"Huh"?

"You said that's what you told her...is that the truth"?
Izuku shook his head and avoided eye contact with the detective. "Um...No that's not what happened......I ran away". Izuku said his fingers now interlocking. Tsukauchi showed visible surprise he took out a notepad and pen and wrote something down.

"Why did you run away"?
"I was registered as quirkless before-

"I know" Tsukauchi interrupted.
"Well for that I was bullied pretty severely...and I guess running away seemed like the best option. To get away...finally, be someone else if I had to give a reason that's the only one I can think of".

Tsukauchi tapped the pen of his temple. "You said you were quirkless and that was evidenced by your doctor, your quirk registry form, and your mother. But that doesn't seem to be the case anymore...correct"?

Izuku nodded and made eye contact with the the detective. "Yes".
"So you're a late bloomer then".

"Sure, I guess you could say that".

"How or when did you come into the realization you had a quirk"? Tsukauchi asked.

"When...About One or 2 weeks after I ran away."

"How about a cup of tea"? Nezu asked. Tsukauchi nodded as did Izuku. After a couple moments of silence. "So you ran away and you're quirk activated itself."

"Yes and no" Izuku responded. My quirk was always working but only passively". Izuku said a bit more relaxed.
"What do you mean it only worked passively"?

"My quirk is able to absorb solar radiation and in response to that solar radiation. I have Super Strength, Super Speed, and of course Flight."

"That's some quirk One more question. Where were you the day of the USJ attack."
Izuku avoided eye contact. "I was feeling unwell so I stayed home. I apologize for skipping school but a friend of mine asked for my help".

"It's fine but what's the name of your friend"? Tsukauchi asked.
"His name is Antonio Jykate but he moved to America the day of the Villian attack".

"Ah such vibrant youth skipping school to help those who need it"! Nezu shouted.
"Well...thank you Midoriya that's all I need today. I'll be seeing you Principal Nezu. The detective left the room I stood to follow but was stopped by Nezu's voice. "Midoriya, anytime you would like to talk...I'm right here". Izuku nodded and left the room.
