Chapter 20 - He Never Cared

Wednesday Nashon took Serenity home before the cleaning lady arrived. He decided to stay for a while. he laid in her bed and smoked a spliff of loud as she sat on the floor studying with all her books laid out around her.

I'm not responsible if that knocks you out again, she laughed. Well, I don't have work in the morning so I can sleep till next week. She gave him a side-eye as he smirked while he took a puff. Nashon enjoyed every minute with Serenity he felt free. He felt like he could be himself. She laughed at his jokes and didn't judge anything he did or said. He never went over in his head how he was going to see her when he got married. He would just block it out when the thought came up.
Hey Nashon, you know what would be fun? If we went to the go cart track. Nashon took a deep pull. He didn't know how to tell her that would never happen, even if he wanted to. Ya, that would be fun.
Nashon said in between releasing his draw.

Serenity knew Nashon wouldn't take her. She was just testing him. She was tired of thinking they were getting somewhere and then getting let down. She studied in silence and Nashon drifted off to sleep.

After Tiffany came back from her trip Nashon was back on her schedule. She had scheduled ballroom dancing lessons on Monday's, vegan cooking class on Wednesdays and couples Pilates on Saturdays. In between, she gave Nashon a ton of wedding decor and modern groom magazines she wanted him to go through. Every day she was bringing something up about the wedding. How they had to plan this and arrange that. Aunty had called to invite Nashon to Tisha's gender reveal party on the Sunday. Nashon was happy he would have a free day without Tiffany.

After Nashon went home that week Serenity didn't hear from him. She was tired of the on and off switch with him. She went over to Shani's to tell her about her week and how she's tired of feeling used and then forgotten. Shani girl your boy was living like some kind of celebrity.

Girl, I don't know man are just fuckin pigs. Shani replied shaking her head. And look at her she looks like a fuckin Barbie doll! I must have been a joke to him!
