Nina's POV

Saturday 10:17 am

I slowly began to open my eyes, squinting because the sun seeped between the small gaps of my white curtains. I took my phone off the charger, checking the time and seeing if I had any notifications.

Damn. I usually never get up this early on my own. There's a first for everything I guess.

I shrugged to myself, getting out of bed and walked into the bathroom. I brushed my teeth and washed my face. I put my hair up in a high ponytail before walking out and putting on my slippers. I skipped downstairs, meeting with nothing but the sound of silence.

My dad had to attend a business meeting in Miami and my mom is currently over the Atlantic somewhere, flying a plane to Paris. They weren't going to be home for a while, but I was used to being alone. It's just been a harder lately because at least my sister was around. Maybe if she isn't doing anything today, we could hang out.

I was greeted in the living room by Lola. She pounced out of her small puppy bed and ran to me, scratching the bottom of my feet. I picked her up off the floor and giggled, kissing her small head sweetly. At least I wasn't completely alone.

I walked into the kitchen, trying to find something to eat other than cereal. I settled on waffles, since I haven't made them in forever. I took out the proper ingredients and put them together, only making enough for one since I wasn't that hungry. I took my breakfast out of the waffle maker, decorating it with some berries and syrup.

I sat on one of the stools in the kitchen, unlocking my phone and tapping the Netflix app. I continued catching up on Riverdale, since I was interrupted by Paxton's texts the other day.

I cannot believe Archie and Betty just freaking kissed. They're both in relationships ! What's going to happen if Jughead or Veronica find o-

I snapped out of my thoughts when my phone buzzed, seeing it was a text from my sister.

Sisterrr 💗: hey sis 💞 i really wish we could hang out today, but one of my professors moved my test to monday. im meeting up with a few people to study. but i promise i will make it up to you okkk ?

Nina: no no that's totally fine. do what you have to do just let me know. love youuu 😌

Sisterrr 💗: love you tooo !

I turned off my phone and let out a loud sigh. Damn it, I was really hoping she would have time today. I feel like it's been ages since the last time I saw her, but I know how important school is to her.

Liv was going to be busy helping her parents run errands all weekend and Tonei was working, but said she would text me if she got off early so we could hang out.

I put the plate and utensils in the dishwasher and opened the back door, walking outside into my large backyard. It was really beautiful outside. It wasn't too hot and not a cloud in sight. I immediately decided to go on a long walk. Plus Lola needed to go out and do her business, so I'd be killing two birds with one stone.

I shut the backyard door and locked it, running upstairs to take a quick shower. I dry myself off and change into some baggy adidas pants, a gray tank crop top, and some Nike running shoes. I leave my hair down and put no makeup on, because who am I going to impress.
