I never planned on publishing this, but a part of me feels like some writing is meant to be shared.
This story was inspired by my favorite place in the world Colonial Williamsburg in Virginia and it was there where I began writing this in 2016. I tried to be as historically accurate as possible, but I also had to take some creative license in most details. The town of Berkton, Virginia does not exist and all of the characters come from my imagination. The title was inspired by the 18th-century song that was played at the British Surrender at Yorktown in 1781 (which is also where Lin Manuel-Miranda came up with the song in Hamilton).
I am currently going through each chapter and doing major edits, as my 15-year-old writing was not very good. I will be posting chapter by chapter every other week. In the meantime check out my Pinterest board for a visual of Harry and Abigail's story. https://pin.it/BRTL8zn
