Hakeem:
It's the next morning and my head is pounding. A few rays of sunlight is beaming through my curtains. A few moments later there's a knock on the door. I try to ignore it but clearly the person isn't getting the message because they continue knocking. I swear these maids always come at the wrong times. I drag my feet against the carpet and pull open the door.
"You have some nerve...."
"You have some nerve what exactly?" And standing infront of me with a displeased look on his face is none other than my father.
"I do apologise father I didn't know it was you."
"Obviously you didn't know it was me. How would you know when you came home drunk at 4 in the morning, you're clearly hungover now and you were sleeping till 2 in the afternoon!" Why the hell is he shouting so loud I'm right infront of him. And this frickin headache is only getting worse.
"Fix yourself up. I don't know how you're going to do it, but you better not look like this tonight or else..." He slowly walks down the staircase towards the dining room.
Well there goes my morning ruined already. I take a cold shower and change into a tracksuit . I give my brown tousled hair a ruffle. And I'm ready to go.
I walk down the stairs, grab my keys and am about to head out the door. When somebody clears their throat.
"Be home before 6. We will be having a rehearsal before the actual dinner." Amanda the maid says as she swiftly turns around and walks away. Call me weird but sometimes I feel like that woman has a hidden agenda. Wherever I go she's always watching.
I walk out the house and straight go straight to my car.I turn on the ignition of my Mercedes Benz and drive off towards the gym. As soon as I get to the gym I take my jacket and shirt off and go directly to the boxing ring.
"Hey coach how you been?"
"You know the drill Hakeem. You need to do warm ups before you enter my ring."
"Oh come on coach what difference does it make if I warm up or not. Just hand me the gloves and let's get swinging."
"Hakeem."
"That's my name."
"The sooner you get to warming up, the sooner you can get in the ring and swing as much as you want." I remain standing against the ropes refusing to leave the ring.
"You really don't want to do the warm ups?" I shake my head at him with a cocky smile.
"Okay then. Hassan! Why don't you go against Hakeem and do a little warm up. Don't hold back, he seems ready for anything today." Coach walks past me and pats me on the back.
My smile immediately drops and my eyes widen. Now coach knows damn well that Hasan is one of the toughest fighters in the ring. Matter of fact he's the current King Of The Ring. I'd only go against him if I had a death wish. He slowly enters through the ropes with a smirk on his face.
"Erh Hassan bro....how you been lately? How's life?" He just continues to stare at me. "Hows the wife been?" I smile at him nervously.
"My wife left me for someone else a few months ago. Once we're done in this ring you'll know exactly how my life feels."
Hell no. I can't and I won't find out what your life feels like. I need to find a way out of here and I need to do it quick. The moment he turns his back to get his gloves I run out the ring.
"Where are you going, get your ass back here right now!"
I immediately take out my phone.
"Hello? Sorry I completely forgot about it.
Yes mom I'll be home as soon as possible see you soon!" I look at him and raise my shoulders.
"Sorry bro. Duty calls." I immediately leave the gym without a second glimpse at him. What do I do now? Where do I go?
I decide to ride around town for a while until I eventually end up at a park called 'The Gardens'. I walk around for a few minutes until I decide to sit near by a fountain. I look down at the fountain full of coins and see there's some words engraved on the concrete.
'_you don't meet people by accident.
And nothing in life is by coincidence._'
