(Continued from last chapter)
Diana's POV:
After dressing Dakota and doing her hair she ran back to the living room to be with Danny while I got ready. Maybe Danny wants to come get groceries with us and stay for dinner and after we can talk? I'm not too sure what I want to do.
After finishing my hair and makeup I put my shoes, coat and bag on I went to the living room to see Danny sitting on the couch with Dakota on top of him hugging his chest, wrapped with her favorite blanket.
I was kinda shocked, that's her favorite blanket and never lets anyone sleep with it, even me.
I took a picture quick picture and turned the tv off and closed the blinds quietly leaving my flat and leaving them two to sleep for a while. I sent Danny a quick text saying i went out for groceries and I didn't want to wake them up because they looked cute.
When I finished all my shopping, I was on my way back to my place. I opened the door to the flat really quiet and still dark. I walked to the kitchen placing everything down and making my way back to the living room to see Danny and Dakota still sleeping but have changed their positions. He was now laying on the couch and Dakota on top of his chest. It's so cute and every time she falls asleep with Charley she never lays on him, she lays next to him or rest her head on his leg but then saying he's not comfortable and leaves to her room.
I decided to leave the lights off and go into the kitchen to make dinner since its about 4 pm. Since Dakota has been born and been able to eat real food, I cook at home a lot more often, or at least try to cook. sometimes my cooking turns out really bad and we order takeout.
"Hello" I turned around to see Danny stretching.
"Hi" I smiled "had a good rest?"
"Yeah I did" he chuckled, we went quiet. it's still a bit awkward talking to him again like nothing ever happened.
"Is Dakota still sleeping?"
He nodded. "You know she never lets anybody touch that blanket. it's her favorite, she doesn't even let me touch it, or when we're cuddling she won't share it."
He took a breathe in about to say something.
"I awake!!" Our heads turned to Dakota who had very messy hair.
"Hi I see that" I laughed "c'mere so we can fix your hair" I chuckled.
"Why did you leave me" she pouted talking to Danny. He carried her and placed her on the counter top right in front of him.
"Well you see, I didn't want to wake you up. And you're a princess so Princesses' need all the sleep they can get to stay beautiful." Dakota made an O shape with her mouth. "that's why your mummy sleeps so much. She has to stay beautiful, even though it's impossible for you guys not to." he looked over at me. I didn't say anything.
"Foods ready" I mumbled.
As we were sitting at the table all eating our food I decided now would be a good time to tell Dakota.
"Dakota, mummy needs to tell you something very important. can you listen to me?" She nodded. Danny looked over at me. "so do you remember when you asked me where your daddy was? And I said he has to work for a long time?" I looked over at Danny.
"Yes mummy but I don't need him anymore. he can be my daddy" she pointed To Danny. "I like him and he's like a giant teddy bear!"
Danny and I chuckled.
"Well you see baby, Danny is your daddy. Your real daddy"
We all stayed quiet for a minute, waiting for her to say something but by the look of her face she was trying to comprehend what I just told her.
"So I call you daddy now?" Dakota asked Danny.
"Yes you call me daddy"
She smiled "okay daddy!! Let's go watch a movie! Can we watch frozen?" She jumped off her seat taking Danny's hand going into the living room. I smile and began cleaning up.
It was now 10 o'clock and Dakota was still wide awake, but it was an hour past her bedtime.
"Dakota time for bed."
"Okay! But can daddy help say goodnight?"
"Of corse he can" she smiled and ran up to her room. Once Dakota was in bed I turned on her night light and turned the lights off.
"Goodnight baby" I kissed her forehead and waiting for Danny.
"Goodnight love" he kissed her head.
"Night mummy night daddy" I closed the door.
Danny and I sat down on the couch in the living room. The room was dim and the TV was off.
"You know I want to be in your life. I still love you, my feelings for you haven't changed."
I sighed. "I love you. So much Danny, even though you've hurt me so many times. I just can't let you go and you're always on my mind. I'm not forgiving you. That's going to take time"
"I know. I'm such a shit person. I'm so sorry, you don't know how sorry I am. I'm here okay and I promise you I won't ever leave again. I just want everything to be okay." my eyes began to water. "hey don't cry, I'm never making you cry again. c'mere" I moved over to sit next to him. "I love you and I know that things aren't that great between us, but I won't leave you and Dakota again. I'm here to stay" I stayed quiet not know what to say or do. I looked up to him, he began to lean in and hip lips were on mine.
And I knew then,
That I never want to let him go.
