ALAN

I don't know how I ended up in this mess but I think it started when I let Madison into my home. From the first moment I saw her in the office I knew she was special. I don't know how or why but she radiated something I needed. Call it love at first sight, I don't know, but it was something. She was beautiful. Her blonde hair was silky, her smile was gorgeous and her eyes were always large and excited.
I'd never felt that way before for any other woman so I ignored her, hoping the wierd feelings would go away. And they didn't.

So when the virus broke out and I still needed to carry on with business I knew I'd need help. I didn't necessarily want her to come to the island because I wanted to forget about her for a while. But my work was piling up and she was the only person who could help me. I felt like I could trust her. Not in the way that I could spill all my secrets to her but if she ever found them out I knew she would keep all of them.

I had known that having someone who didn't know my secret living in my home would be a risk but I wasn't counting on our first encounter to go wrong.

I'll first go into the background of why I grow a tail every time I touch water or runny liquids.

One day I was boating in an area I'd never boated before near sunset. I thought it would be fun to just relax and explore for a while.
I saw an Island on the horizon and the unmistakable form of a volcano on one half of it. It looked pretty cool and I thought it would be a good place to take a rest and have some lunch.
I rode to the island and pulled my boat to shore. The island was larger than I'd expected. I had a quick bite to eat as I watched the sun set.
All of a sudden got a wierd feeling in my chest that I had to walk into the woods and towards the volcano. I don't know how that sounded like a good idea but I went with my intuition and encased myself into the dark forest. Even in the dark I had a perfect sense of direction and the moonlight provided me with an ample amount of light.
The volcano came closer as I gained distance.

When I reached it I saw that there was a cave like entrance that led into it. I entered and there was a pool. Not just any kind of pool but a natural pool that had glowing blue water. I wondered how the water glowed such a beautiful blue in darkness then I looked up and saw that the moon was rising to be in perfect align with the crater of the volcano. Maybe it was the moon that made it glow like that. The water looked so inviting and drawing that I jumped into it. It was cold but as the moon edged more and more to align with he circle of the crater the warmer it got. Then I noticed the water had started bubbling around me. The pool glistened in the moonlight. It was the brightest I'd ever seen the moon. It was so brilliant and blinding but I couldn't look away, nothing at that moment could ever make me look away. I was still in my shoes, socks and clothes but I didn't care.
Something wanted me here, in this pool on this island on this night at that exact time.
Like how quickly it started it ended and the moon had set.
The bubbles stopped but the pool still shone a brilliant blue. It was as If I had finally realised that I'd jumped in this pool with my clothes and shoes on then I lifted myself out of it. I don't remember what happened after that but I remember waking up on the beach and finding my way back to my boat the next morning. That afternoon I climbed into my bath and grew a blue tail. It was white on the underside and blue on the back. The scales were rough and it felt like a natural working limb.

Later on I would find out that the tail came with powers such as telekinesis as well as heating and freezing things with my hands. I would also find out that it takes 10 seconds to grow the tail after touching even a drop of water. I was a twenty year old guy with a fish tail and the only thing I knew was that it was connected to the island and the pool I'd jumped into that night.

I only showed my parents and my best friend Bryce my tail and I wanted to keep it that way. I was a successful business man and if anyone knew about my secret I'd be on the front of every newspaper and I'd be treated like a science project. I did the only think I felt would be safe. I bought the island and built a mansion there. It was a private getaway that all belonged to me. The construction team swore a confidentiality agreement, they wouldn't work at night and they go paid twice as much to create the mansion in the time limit of a year.
