~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Akaashi pov.
Today Akaashi and Bokuto decided to visit Kenma, they wanted to surprise him with some food so they didn't call or anything. Akaashi was against the idea at first but Bokuto eventually made him agree to do this. He thought that we could visit Kenma because "he probably is lonely and misses Kuroo right now so we have to support him". And when i tried to protest he started saying things like "what if you were on Kenma's place, wouldn't you miss me?" And well, what was he supposed to reply to that? Of course he would miss Bokuto so he had to agree on his idea.
They were already at the door, this time Akaashi drove them to Kenma's place instead of walking because both of them were just too lazy to walk all the way here. They knocked on the door with a bag of warm meat buns and waited for someone to open the door.
Kenma pov.
Kenma woke up to loud banging on his door, well it wasn't that loud actually but he just woke up so everything seemed kinda loud. He stood up- not even having to put on his clothes because he managed to fall asleep with them on, and walked towards the door yawning with his eyes half-closed. He slowly opened the door and to his surprise saw two familiar faces, Bokuto and Akaashi.
- OI OI KENMA - - goodmorning - both of them spoke at the same time. Kenma looked at them and had to hide that he was kind of irritated. He didn't want visitors in the goddamn morning, why wouldn't the world just let him sleep? When he doesn't sleep it's wrong and when he finally wants to sleep nobody let's him. Kenma just sighed and invited them in.
- we brought meat buns - Akaashi spoke while Bokuto took them from Akaashi and already got three plates which he put on their wooden table. It irritated Kenma how Bokuto could just come into their house and feel home just like that so quickly.
- is it alright if i'll make tea? - Akaashi asked.
- i don't mind... - Kenma yawned again and stretched his back. His eyes were a little more opened now and with every minute his mind was more awake. Without even knowing it the meat buns were on their plates and Akaashi was already pouring the tea into three mugs. Kenma just sat down and started eating the meat bun.
They started talking about a few different topics, Bokuto's volleyball team, his practice matches, Akaashi's work, at one point they even started talking about a drama show on tv that they actually all were watching. But then it came to one specific topic that Kenma didn't really want to hear about at this moment.
- soooo how's Kuroo? - Akaashi's words somehow hit like an arrow.
- YEAH HAVE YOU TALKED TO HIM? BECAUSE LIKE, THE LAST TIME I SPOKE HIM WAS WHEN I CALLED HIM A DICKHEAD CHICKEN AND I THOUGHT HE WAS MAD AT ME BUT LIKE- -
- no i haven't talked to him, he doesn't answer his phone calls lately... i'm... i'm worried about him - Kenma cut Bokuto off. Both of them looked pretty worried now at Kenma. Bokuto looked almost surprised at Kenma's reaction. Who thought someone like Kenma could actually be that worried. Kenma now just hoped that his eyes weren't red nor swollen from crying yesterday, or that it wasn't visible enough for them to realise.
Before Kenma knew it Bokuto went in for a hug.- Hey there i'm sure nothing bad happened - Akaashi spoke first, judging by his voice he sounded worried now as well.
- i'm also sure he hadn't forgotten about you if that's something you're worried about, you mean way too much for that rooster than you might even think, trust me. - those were the words that he needed to hear without even knowing it. But he didn't like being hugged by Bokuto, he wanted Kuroo. He needed him. Kenma calmed himself down and broke the hug looking at Akaashi and Bokuto.
- ...thank you both, i really appreciate this but it really will be better if you two get going now. - Kenma didn't want to seem mean towards the couple, but if they stayed comforting him a little longer he might've started crying in front of them.
Bokuto clearly wanted to protest but Akaashi stopped him by softly taking his hand. Bokuto understood it then and probably just didn't want to argue with his boyfriend.
- see ya Kenma, and just remember, it'll be fine. - those were the last words from Bokuto and then they closed the door behind them. Kenma thought a good way to distract himself from this whole situation was watching a show but while trying to turn the TV on he noticed that the TV remote needed new batteries. He had to go to the attic to get the batteries which he really didn't want to do, the attic was creepy.
He eventually stood up and went to the scary, dark place. Kenma had brought a flashlight with him by which he found the batteries very quickly and wanted to go back downstairs already, when a specific box caught his eye. A box with "Kuroo" written on it with a black permanent marker. He hesitated at first but eventually opened it.
His eyes got all wet when he saw what was in the box. There were pictures of Kuroo and Him playing volleyball, even one of his own favourite pictures from one of the first times when they played together. Their parents had made a photoshoot for them. He picked that one up with tears already falling down his cheeks. The next thing he picked up was their old volleyball they used to play with as kids. They practiced almost every single day just because Kuroo wanted to.
Kenma hugged the objects to his chest and burst into tears.
- Kuroo i miss you, why won't you pick up your goddamn phone? Don't you know you're making me all worried? - Kenma spoke those words aloud- no it wasn't speaking, it was more like screaming, screaming out of despair to see a loved one. Kenma then heard something cracking and immediately turned around with hope.
- Kuroo? - but when he cried his name out he noticed that it only must've been a mouse. This was too much for him. This wasn't a prank, Kuroo wouldn't do something like this to him. Kenma was still crying, he didn't even want to imagine what might've happened. Eventually, he came downstairs. The small boy didn't even bring the batteries with him, the only thing that he held was the picture.
He tried calling Kuroo once again but as he already expected, he got no reply other than that stupid voicemail.
