C H A P T E R 42

Evelyn was 19 when she first came to the Castle. She was just like you, confused, scared, and lost. She was dragged away from her family knowing it was the last time she's ever going to see them.

"Queen Evelyn it is an honor to have you represent our country. How does it feel to marry King Bennett Vogal?" A man flashes a camera in my face as I try to comprehend what he asks me.

"I um... I don't know," I answer truthfully. I honestly don't know the men personally. He could be a serial killer for all I know.

Another man pushes a microphone in front of my face. "Queen Evelyn, have you ever seen him before? Is this your first time seeing him?" All these questions make my anxiety trigger. I suffer from severe social anxiety.

"Alright, that's enough questions." The man who was escorting me says as he opens the door for me and I get inside a vehicle to be met with a woman who was very beautiful.

The door closes to the vehicle making me jump and I tuck my notebook between my legs in an awkward position. The woman was staring at me as she sipped in her Martini glass.

I felt uncomfortable by her staring at me. I don't like it when people stare at me for too long It makes me think that they are judging me.

"Your name is Eleven?" The women ask me in an uninterested voice.

"Evelyn..." I spoke while stuttering through my name. I hate it when I do that.

She grimaces as if what I said didn't matter. "That's what I said right? They both sound the same." I don't know who this lady was, but she is just plain rude.

Ignoring her, I turn my head to look out the window to see trees passing by.

"My name is Olivia but you can call me Queen Olivia to be."

If she is Queen then why am I here? That doesn't make sense. "Then why am I here if you are going to be the Queen?" I asked her and she started to laugh.

"Oh, honey do you want to go home to your family?" She asked me and I nodded. I want to go to see my Dad and Mom. "Well all you have to do is when they ask you to take the throne of being Queen of Kingra just deny."

So I'm not being forced to marry him? I can go back home and see my family after all. "I can do that?"

She nods her head while pushing her hair back over her shoulder. "Of course why would we force you to marry an unknown stranger? You're a beautiful young girl and you deserve better." She gives me a genuine smile.

Evelyn actually met Bennett on the night of her coronation. Her first impression of him was that he was a charmer and he always made her feel things that she never felt before. She never had a man give her this attention since her Dad was strict about dating.

There were too many people staring at me. Did they not like the dress that I was wearing? Did I have too much makeup on? Did I suppose to smile big enough? So many thoughts were racing through my mind as I was walking down the stairs.
