Hotlanta Part 2

Tamia POV

"You a'ight?" Kevin asked looking down at me.

"Mhmm." I nodded meanwhile I was anything but alright more like a nervous wreck I now know how Serai felt meeting Kaden's family, my stomach was in knots since the moment we landed and it tripled the second we got here I just pray I don't make a fool of myself in front of their grandmother.

We been here for a few hours now and I will admit I've somehow found myself in my old shy like ways, but can you blame me I was surrounded by Kevin's family his uncles Jonathan, Leon and Brian had came an hour ago with their significant others as well as his favourite aunt, April who was also the baby of the bunch throw a few cousins in the mix and you have a great time with a nervous wreak named Tamia.

And everyone seemed oblivious to it.. Well all except Kevin he tried calming me down by whispering sweet things in my ear and keeping me close at all time and it helped... somewhat but not enough if I'ma sit here acting like a mute.

"Are you alright dear?" Their grandmother Ms. Ruth asked looking at me with concern eyes causing all eyes to fall on me.

"Yes, Ms. Ruth." I answered with a small smile hoping that'll ease her concerns a little.

"You sure?" She said still sceptical.

"Yes ma'am."

"Mhmm, okay then."

"Hey its getting kinda late," Eric started glancing at his watch.

"We should probably getting going." He says looking around the room.

"Oh before I forget here's the keys to the car." Kevin cousin Lamar said tossing the set of keys to him.

"Thanks bruh good looking out how much I owe you?" Kev says reaching into his back pocket for his wallet.

"Nah its cool, we family." They dapped each other up before Lamar moved off .

"You rented a car?" I asked him softly.

"Yeah had to have some ways to get round, right?" Before I could even open my mouth Ms. Ruth spoke.

"What you mean by ' Probably get going, Eric? She voice had a tone that clearly said

'Be careful, I ain't scared to fuck you up.'

"Um well nana, uh you see we- Kevin?" Immediately all eyes turned to him.

"We uh-"

"Nana we booked a hotel room Ms. Ruth." I answered looking between Kevin and Eric I smiled a little its kinda nice to know they're so scared of their grandmother guess she really torn into their behinds when they were kids to still have this much power over them, even Serai stayed quiet and she never keep quiet.

"Hotel? When I have this big ol' house here waiting to be used. No call them people and cancel your rooms and y'all can sleep here. Go ahead, call them." She said while picking up the cordless phone shoving it in Kevin hands.

"B-But nana we don't wanna impose i-i-it won't be right." He tried to reason.

Oh so this is when the lying starts... that's stuttering though, scaredy cat.

"But y'all wouldn't be y'all my babies." She said sweetly looking between her three grandkids.

"But-"

"What Kevin." She said squinting her eyes at him.

"We can't stay."

"And why the hell not?"

"You don't got enough rooms!" He said loudly as if that was the perfect reason to why we couldn't stay.

"Of course I do baby. You and Eric can sleep in your old room, Tamia and Serai can sleep in the guest rooms above the kitchen and Kaden dear can see in the kids mama's old room beside me." She said eyeing Kaden.

"But,-"

"That'll be fine, Ms Ruth." I answered for him.

Then it's settled." She smiled clapping her hands together, before heading upstairs.

"What'cha do that for?" Kevin and Serai both asked me.

"Am I the only one that saw how happy she got when I said yes, baby I know you rather a hotel but come on how can you say no after seeing the joy that alone brought to her face."

"Very easy just say 'No'." Kevin says with a straight face.

"Exactly." Serai threw her two cents in.

"Oh so that's why you was stuttering so hard I thought you was gonna bite your tongue."

"I wasn't that bad."

"And I thought you'd be all for it Serai, seeing how you reacted to seeing her again."

"Nana and I are too similar we gonna butt heads before day two I promise you."

"Well if you do I'll be here to butt in okay."

"Whatever." She mumbled crossing her arms.

"And Kevin I think it clear you can't say no to nana."

"Fine So I'm not good at tell my grandmother no, but you saying yes fucked my week cause 1.) I won't be able to sleep next to you and 2.) Look who I got for my roommate."

"Oh stop it." I hit him on his chest.

"One whole week, Tamia seven excruciating days."

"Okay I got it Mr Dramatic."

"Come on up here y'all !"

"Here we come." I yelled back

"Fit y'all faces and buck up."

"I could be ordering room service right now but noooo you had to be you." Eric mumbled passing by me to head for the staircase.

What's wrong with me being me... can he being any meaner.

After settling into our rooms I went to the bathroom down the hall and took a shower, getting dressed I sat on my temporary bed I lotion my arms and legs before putting my hair back in to a high ponytail.

Getting into bed I said a prayer thanking the lord for all he's given me as well as asking for guidance and protection for my family back home and the taylors, finding a good spot I closed my eyes.

A few minutes later I started to drift off to sleep. Almost one with dream land I hear a soft shuffle of a door being opened before hearing a soft like ' pst' calling sound following by my name.

Cracking one eyelid open I see my door opened and Kevin interrupting my sleep, sitting up against the headrest I began rubbing my eyes a little with all the light he has shining in on me.

"Kevin, baby what is it?"

"I can't sleep." He says as he comes in.

"Plus Eric snoring the drapes off walls." He said causing me to smile.

"Can I sleep with you, baby?" He asked in the sweetest voice.

"Uh- okay but you gotta go back before Ms Ruth wakes up."

"Cool." He said all smiles.

Moving over a little he climbs in pulling me to him, he snuggles his head into my neck inhaling my scent before kissing me there.

"Good night baby." He mumbled.

"Good night Kevin."

"I love you."

"I love you more." Placing another kiss on my neck he quickly falls into a peaceful sleep as did I.

It's short I know don't be going off on me now.
