It was finally July. The cases for COVID-19 went down and the death rate also went down so all restrictions were lifted. Businesses were open, people were allowed to see each other and hug each other again. Everyone got what they were longing for over the past few months.
That wasn't the case for Y/N however. The girl had loved that she didn't have to do schoolwork anymore and she loved that she could go to all her favourite diners in town just to get a milkshake but, without any friends that lived in her town, there was nothing much to do.
She was outside everyday, always doing something whether it was reading a book under a big tree or sketching something on her front porch.
She begged Finn and Natalia to fly out to her town but they were so caught up in filming that they didn't have the time to. So, she did whatever she had to so the days would go by quicker.
It was sometime in mid-July when Y/N finally had someone to hang out with.
The girl was having a picnic in a nearby field, that not many people knew of, when she saw two familiar figures walking through the field towards her.
She couldn't quite make out who they were but as soon as she heard their voices, she knew exactly who had come to visit her once again.
Y/N got up so quickly that while she started to run over to them, she tripped on her boom box and fell, face first, into the grass.
She groaned as she heard Finn cackle loudly and yell "EAT SHIT" at her. She could also hear Natalia laughing quietly behind him.
The two walked over and helped Y/N up. They all sat and got comfy on the picnic blanket she had brought while the one girl tried to clean up the mess she made.
Finn and Natalia instantly dove into the basket full of food in the middle of the blanket since they were always hungry. Y/N didn't worry about running out of food because she always packed enough for a whole family of 5 to eat, just in case she was extra hungry that day.
"So, what are you guys doing here?! I thought you guys were super busy with filming" Y/N said, with a mouthful of food.
"What, did you not want us here?" Natalia joked.
"No, no I love that you guys are here! It's just such a shock!" Y/N responded.
"We have a little break right now 'cause Millie got badly injured, again" Finn huffed. He was obviously bummed that filming would take longer than normal because of the break and he would be able to go home for a longer period of time.
"Alright then. So how long are you guys down for? We have a spare room back at home and a pull out couch so you guys are more than welcome to stay with us! It would be like an extra long sleepover" The girl said, excitedly. She was so happy that her friends were down to see her on their break.
"We're here until the end of July, which is about 2 weeks. Then we're heading home to rest for a bit" Finn responded.
"Are you sure you can't stay an extra week?" The girl asked. "My dad, stepfamily and I are going to our cottage the first week of August and I'm sure they would love if you came." She offered.
"We'll check with everyone to see if it's okay but we'll keep you posted" Natalia said.
The trio sat there, in the middle of the field, catching up on life and exciting things that are coming up until the sunset.
The sunset was beautiful that night. A mix of oranges, pinks and yellows were blended across the sky to make a beautiful scene in front of them.
They all sat together, watching the sunset all content.
Y/N couldn't help but notice that Finn would stare at her watching the sunset. He looked lovestruck, but only Natalia could figure out that emotion on his face.
When Finn looked away, it was Y/N's time to stare at Finn. The way the light made his skin have a slight orange tint to it, the way his eyes glimmered from the sun, the way he looked so happy just to be there, with the two of them. She also couldn't help but notice how his chapped lips formed into a small smile when he realized that she was staring at him.
The trio packed up everything and set off for their journey back to Y/N's house once the sun had set.
this is actually a really long chapter. well, longer than my other chapters. this is just a quick little bonus chapter before i go to bed, just to make up for all the months i didn't publish any parts.
