Chapter 64

[Jaemin]

"How come you're not with Jiho today?"Mark asked while changing into his sports attire. Jisung called us, saying that he wants to play basketball today. I didn't say no because I was bored at home, and jiho is busy today. She's studying for the exams and me? I'll start later.

And too bad, there's only three of us here. Me, Jisung, and Mark. The others had errands, just like Chenle is in China right now. "She's busy, and I don't want to disturb her. And why are you acting like that? I know that you're curious about me and her." I spoke, making him smile sheepishly.

"Then what is it? You and Jeno talked about it, right?" he asked.

I nodded, "Yeah, but I want to hear it from her; that I'm the one she likes." I explained, making him cringe. "Ew you're making me wanna barf."

I just laughed before changing into my own clothes, it's only 10 am and we're here in SMA. The gymnasium is always open to SMA students, especially if they are members of the sports team.

While changing, my mind wandered off to Jiho. I didn't say it but she looked beautiful last night, she wore something that I wasn't used on seeing her in. 

She's the type who choose pajamas over skirts, it was memorable to see her in a dress. It's making me smile while remembering our date last night, she looked happy and that made me happier. 

It took a whole lot of courage to ask her out last night, although she had other plans, she tried to change her plans and decided to meet me after seeing her dad. It made me feel appreciated, and I considered it as a proof that she likes me back.

Of course, I could just ask her if she likes me back, but I want to hear it from her. I want her to say that she feels the same as I do for her, and if she does say it, I'll date her for real.

"I want to eat kimchi stew later." I heard Jisung say, making me and Mark look at him, "And you're saying that because..?"

The boy smiled, "You'll buy me kimchi stew later, hyungs!" he said before running out of the locker room. That kid really knows how to work his way to our wallets.

While playing, Mark and Jisung interrogated me. About me and Jiho, me and Jeno, and others. I already talked with Jeno, he told me that I'm the one Jiho likes and Jiho only see him as a friend.

"You won again, Na Jaemin." Jeno said before downing the contents of  the soju bottle. What is he saying?

"You're the one Jiho likes."

It shocked me, but I couldn't show my happiness about knowing that Jiho likes me too, not in front of Jeno, who is still drinking a ton of soju. This is a chance to be with Jiho, but here I am, drinking in front of Jeno. I even had to stop him from opening a new bottle, although I know that Jeno's alcohol tolerance is high, I'm still worried about him. He's my best friend still, despite of the feud between us over Jiho.

That day when I got home, Jeno called, saying that we should meet in the convenience store near SMA, and since I don't have anything to do, I agreed on his offer. 

What I didn't expect was seeing him so devastated, he bought so much bottles of soju and beer. He was that desperate to get his mind off of this.

Weirdly, he's still smiling at me. "Take care of Jiho, otherwise I'll be the one to do that, despite of knowing the fact she likes you. She means so much to me, so act right and don't do things that will make me steal her from you. I guarantee that I won't do the same mistake I did years ago, when let Kyungri go."
