we arrived at the beach. i wasn't feeling too good because of what just happened. it hurt my stomach knowing how jjs treated.
"hey girl we're going swimming, wanna join us" kie asked with sarah and pope next to her.
"i think i'm gonna sit this one out." i said sitting in the sand. "are you sure?" sarah said with a frown. "yeah, sorry. not feeling too hot" i said holding my stomach. "aw okay. we'll be in the water if you need us" kie replied. i smiled and laid in the sand.
i watched john b and jj surfing. the way jjs hair flipped when it was wet. the way his body moved to peacefully. the way he laughed when he fell. he was beautiful.

"JADE!!" i heard as jj jumped on me. "oh my god" i said sighing. "wake uppp" he playfully pulled my arm. "jj, i'm honestly not feeling too well." i said pushing him off of me. his smile glided into a frown. "wait really? are you okay? do you need anything" he said while laying next to me.
"yeah i'm fine."
"jade, cmon lets go get something"
"no it's fine, it's just a-"
and before i knew it he was pulling me up. "hey guys i'm gonna go get something for jade. we'll be right back" jj shouted. everyone nodded and we walked to his house, as he wrapped his arm around my shoulder.
"whys your stomach hurt, did you eat anything? or do anything?"
"i woke up, went to the beach and now i'm here, nothing unordinary" i said, lying. my stomach hurt because of him. it was turning more into butterflies and my stomach burned.
"oh okay. cmon lets go inside". we walked in his house. it was honestly kind of a wreck, but i didn't expect much from him. "here take this" jj spoke with two white pills in his hands, reached out to mine. i grabbed them and swallowed them. he grabbed water from his fridge and threw it at me. i caught it and took a sip of it.
"hey you need sleep," jj said. "here come to my room.". he led me down the hall. why are we just in jjs house. am i supposed to freak out of should i be this calm. i'm not even speaking. he point to his bed and i jump on it and look at his ceiling. he lays next to me. i face him and he looks at me in the eyes. "yes?" i ask. "has anyone told you how pretty you are, caramel." i smile. "i mean yeah some people." i let out a little laugh. "good" he sighs. then i fall asleep.

"dude you really like her" i hear john bs voice. i just woke up but i pretend to be asleep to hear this conversation.
"i mean yeah, look at her" says jj.
"she doesn't seem like your type, really. you just met her like last night"
i look out the window next to me, looking at some weird bird at the window.
"you're right she's not my type. she's jade. and jade is the best thing that's happened. last night, i thought we'd see each other for 5 minutes. but she stuck with me and i'm so grateful for it. she's gorgeous, and she can be so funny, and find the positivity in anything. she makes me happy."
"alright whatever," i hear john b say and walk out the room. did jj really just say that about me? i thought i'd end up liking a boy who would never like me back again.
i pretend to wake up. i look around and see jj and than yawn. "oh hey jj" i say. "hey caramel. feelin better?" he says sitting down across the room. "i'm feeling great" i say giving him a thumbs up. he shakes his head and smiles. "good. you wanna, uhm, go have dinner tonight?"
"no." i say.
he looks down at his feet. "oh i'm sorry. i didn't know-"
i laugh. "of course i wanna get dinner", i smile. "is the rest of the crew coming" i ask. "just you and me, caramel." i run to him and hug him. he hugs me back. i put my hair up. "so i'll pick you up around 8?" he asks. "it's a date" i squint my eyes and smile and than run home.

"jade, oh my goodness, what's such the rush" my mom stops me as i run in the house.
"mom there's this boy-"
"a boy? what's his name?"
"his names jj, and he's pretty cool. he's coming over at 8 and we're going out for dinner" i say with a smile stretching across my face.
"hm, jj. i cant wait to meet him."
"you'll love him"
