I saw Daryl's setup away from the rest of the group so I figured I'd sit up there to get away from everyone. I also needed time to think. I say on this log that was next to his tent and just stared of into the distance. I heard footsteps coming up from behind me.
"Hey" a voice I recognized as Carl said
"Hi" I answered
"What are you doing out here?" He asked
"Nothing, just thinking. What are you doing out here?"
"Oh.. I.. Uh came out here to look for you"
"Oh" was all I said "you can come sit" I said and moved over. He slowly walked over and sat next to me.
"Can I ask you something?" He questioned
"Yep" I replied
"Did you mean what you said"
"Said what?"
"What you said when you thought I was sleeping"
Shit I thought to myself "yeah" I finally said
"oh" he answered
"Oh? That's all? Just oh!" I said and started to raise my voice
"That's no how I meant-"
"No Grimes that's exactly how you meant it" I said and started to walk away
"No wait pleas-"
"Just forget it" I yelled as I walked into the woods
Carl's POV:
Fuck I messed up. I didn't mean it like that I just didn't know what else to say. I wanted to say that I felt the same way but I didn't know how she would react. I guess anything would've been better than what just happened. I walked away and looked for Glenn, I needed advice
As I was walking back to the group I saw Glenn sitting on top of the RV, I climbed the ladder and sat next to him.
"What's up Carl?" Glenn asked
"I need help"
"With what?"
"Courtney"
I explained to him what happened and what she said to me when she thought I was sleeping. I also said what happened when we were just sitting with each other.
"Damn little dude you have it rough" he said
"Yeah I know, what do I do?"
"Give her some space, she'll come around. You might have to give her a little more space than usual because you know she's a Dixon"
"Haha, thanks Glenn"
"Anytime" and with that I climbed down the ladder and walked to where the group was.
Courtney's POV:
As I walked in the forest I came across a little stream. (The pic above is what the steam looks like) I sat on the rocks that surrounded the pond. I took out my throwing knives and cleaned them in the water. (There is also a pic of the throwing knives above :)) it was so quiet, almost to quiet.
I heard leaves crunch from behind me and out came a walker. Just as I picked up my knives it dropped to the floor with an arrow in its head. I looked up and Daryl was standing there.
"What are you doing out here by yourself"
"I needed space" I said and sat back down on the rock. He came up and sat next to me.
"Daryl?" I asked
"Yeah"
"Why do you look for Sofia so much?"
He just mumbled something
"Hm" I said
"I don't know" he replied
I just looked down and dropped it.
"You know I love you right?" He questioned
"Yeah" I said unsure
"I do, you're the only person I care about Court"
I looked over to him and smiled
"I love you to Daryl"
"Come on let's get back to the group they are probably worrying about us" and with that we walked back to the group together.

As we walked back to the group we saw everyone sitting around the fire. When we walked up to them I heard a faint singing. I looked around and saw Beth singing. I smiled. I sat across from her with Daryl right next to me. After she was done with the song I walked up to her and sat down.
"Do you think you can sing one more song with me?" I asked Beth
"Yeah sure, what song?"
"Weightless by all time low"
"Ok, you start and I'll join in"
I started singing softly looking at the ground
Manage me, I'm a mess
Turn a page, I'm a book
Half unread
I wanna be laughed at
Laughed with, just because
I wanna feel weightless
And that should be enough
But I'm stuck in this fucking rut

As I finished the song I was looking at everyone smiling. Wow I thought to myself, no one has ever heard me sing. They all clapped and I just looked down and whispered thanks
