Dumbledore's date to the ball

Chapter:- 2

James and Sirius glanced at each other. Though it didn't take much time to turn that glance into a glance.

"James."

"Sirius."

"I'll take him to the ball!"

"No, I will."

Dumbledore has folded his hands now and is very eager to watch who wins.

"Back off, James."

"I asked him first, you back off."

"How could you do this to me, mate?"

"Just like you did? Not a big deal, Sirius."

"This is a big deal for me."

"How so?"

"Don't you know?" Sirius placed his hand on his heart. "Professor Dumbledore is the most important person in my life."

"How come-" James shot him a shocked look. "I clearly remember that yesterday, you said the same thing to Remus."

"Th-That-" Sirius stuttered. "That was different, okay"

"How was that different from this when the words are exactly the same?"

Sirius scratched his head. "Stop arguing with me, James. Go and ask Red out. I think I'm good enough for Dumbledore."

"Oh yeah, then I'm excellent for him." said James.

"I'm cool."

"I'm intelligent."

"I'm beater."

"I'm chaser."

"I'm Black."

"And I'm white."

"......."

"I mean... I'm Potter. James Potter. And I deserve to take professor Dumbledore to the Ball!"

"And I'm Sirius Black. I double deserve to take professor Dumbledore to Ball!"

"POTTER, BLACK, detention for both of you." Too busy in their bickering, James and Sirius didn't notice McGonagall. Well, at least not until they got a week worth of detention.

"Minerva..." Dumbledore said with a slight pout. "You ruined all the fun. I was almost about to accept Mr. Black's offer."

"Really!" "What!" Surprised cries from both.

McGonagall stepped in between. "No one is accepting any offer here, please Albus. And both of you, report in my office after 7 sharp." She said with a stern tone.

By this time a lot of onlookers had gathered around. Both with a single glare from McGonagall, everybody quickly retreated back to their works, even Dumbledore.

With a sigh, McGonagall too went back. Corridor cleared until only James and Sirius remained.

And their smirks.

"A week of detention?"

"Worth it!"
