I spent the entire day searching all the places I could find. He couldn't have gotten that far. When the sunset I found myself back at the pub from yesterday. The same old man was behind the counter.

"Did you find him?" He asked as I sat down on a stool.

"Yea I did but then I lost him again." I huffed.

The man chuckled making me look up at him.

"You must be the girl he told me about." He said with an amused smile.

"What?" I asked him.

The man turned away from me to grab a bottle of dark liquor off the shelf behind him. He filled an empty glass then sat it in front of me.

"He came in here when he first arrived. Spent the night sitting here, drinking, and telling me about a woman. A woman who didn't remember him due to a complicated situation. He went on to tell me all about her and the time they'd spent together. He practically spilled his guts to me which honestly happens a lot." The man explained as he watched me closely.

"How'd you know he was talking about me?" I asked curiously.

The man chuckled.

"Let's see, a beautiful woman with caramel wavy hair, a smile to kill for, and eyes that were fiercely golden hazel. Sounds like you." He shrugged.

I took a deep breath then down what was left of the liquor in my glass.

"He's good at this hiding thing. We've been searching every where for months. I can't believe I lost him." I grumbled more to myself.

"Whatever is going on, I can tell you that when he wants to be found you'll find him." The man smiled then walked down the bar.

I sighed then slowly made my way back to the hotel. What do I do now? Do I tell Steve I found him but lost him or just tell Steve it was cold like all the others? I don't think lying is a good idea. I pushed open the door to my room then fell onto the bed. Why did he have to run away? Why is he running? He should know none of us are going to hurt him. I just need to go home. When I get back there I'll figure out what to do. Everything will be fine.

It was almost a week later when I finally heard from Sam and Steve. They called me to come to the avengers compound. When I arrived it seemed the whole place was empty except for my boyfriend and best friend. As soon as Sam saw me he wrapped his arms around me then picked me up. When my feet were once again on the ground Steve pulled me into him for a tight hug.

"What happened with you guys?" I asked noticing several injuries on both of them.

"Just fighting an evil robot in Sokovia." Sam shrugged.

"An evil robot?" I asked in surprise.

"Long story" Steve said waving a dismissive hand.

He grabbed my arm then pulled me over to the couches. I sat between both men knowing what they were about to ask me.

"How did it go in England?" Steve asked.

I hesitated. I knew I had to tell him the truth but I didn't know how either of them would react to what had happened.

"I found him." I said softly.

"What?" They both questioned in unison.

"I found him hiding in an old abandoned factory. I tried to explain to him about coming back with me but I don't remember much. I passed out, woke up in my hotel room, then when I went back to look for him he was gone." I explained.

I felt I should tell Sam the other details privately. I needed to at least tell Sam first then I could tell Steve.

"Any idea where he went?" Steve asked.
