Amarity walked behind her father, walking calmly into the tall ominous building, Marisol close behind. Once they entered, they neared a large gold door and went inside. Rimmion was talking to some other rich looking fellows and saw them, dismissing the others.
"Travis, my favorite guard! And Amarity, it's so good to see you! Whatever are you doing here?" Rimmion asked, limping down and shaking their hands.
"My daughter and her friend here are doing a project for school, comparing humans to reflections. I thought it would be good to bring them here to gather their research, sir." Amarity's father explained.
"Oh, wonderful! Yes, yes, that would be perfectly alright, just don't get into any trouble alright? We have strict rules here for the inmates, those rules apply to you, too. You must remember you are merely observers, understood?" Rimmion told them in a serious tone.
The girls agreed and left the room, then walked down the hallway.
"Good luck," Amarity's father said quietly, leaving them to go to his post.
Marisol and Amarity walked down the hall and pushed through the doors onto the balcony overlooking the work yard. Amarity's despondent expression showed her dislike for the entire facility.
Suddenly, Marisol elbowed her in the arm and pointed down, "Oh my God, look! It's Acela!"

Daven tossed rock after rock into the bin. He was so tired of this interminable, irksome job that he thought he would fall over dead within the hour. He craned his head around to see if there was a visible clock anywhere so he could see how much longer he had to do this.
Noticing his action, Candance leaned forward, "You hate this don't you? You know, you could get out of it if you wanted. You could go hack these rocks out of the quarry with a pick axe, painfully exhausting if you ask me. It's hell either way."
Daven looked back at her, "I didn't ask for this you know..and I'd much rather be doing that than wasting away in a chair sorting useless rocks all day."
Candance flashed a grin, "None of us asked for this. Trust me, this is as good as it gets, you don't want to go down there. If you mess up here you're sent out there. If you mess up there..all the guards have whips on hand, ready at all times. It is very easy to mess up.."
Daven just sat wide-eyed for several seconds before turning back around and getting back to work.
"Heh, that's what I thought. So, I heard you're in with Jay and the gang. Unlucky for you, those guys are always hatching escape plans. They always get caught, and it's never pretty. Take a look at Jay's back some time, the scars are proof enough." Candance whispered.
Daven looked back again, "You know those guys?"
Candance nodded, "I'm their eyes and ears on the South side of the place. That's the girl's section, so they can't keep tabs on activity. I'm pretty good at avoiding trouble."
Daven was going to say something else, but the whistle sounded and he forgot it, bolting up and dashing away from the dull useless conveyer belt, Candance close behind. In the cafeteria, Daven and Candance met up with Grimmley and Brent.
"Where's Jay?" Candance asked.
Grimmley and Brent looked at each other worriedly, then stared at the table in silence. Daven knew that couldn't possibly be good. A red-suit burst through the door, dragging someone behind him. Of course, it was Jay.
"LET ME GO MOTHERFUCKER! I DIDNT DO SHIT THIS TIME!" Jay spat profanities as he kicked and fought the strength of his captor.
The red-suit threw him on the ground, "Listen up! I know we've got a few new guys in here, so Im gonna lay down the line right now for you! This little rat was trying to slack off, hiding behind a rock cart and dozing off. Well, here's a lesson for you!"
