Candance peered around the corner. Several guards stood watch over a certain room. It was a large metal door that seamed to be designed to keep heat in, it wasn't like any other door. It was significantly hotter in this hallway as well. A vent in the ceiling was letting off small traces of hot steam. Bingo. Candance straightened her posture and walked casually down the hallway to get a better look. The red-suits stopped her, of course.
"Where do you think you're going?" One of them demanded her answer.
"Looking for the restroom, I got a little lost," Candance said, "Is it not down this way?"
The other red-suit laughed, "Look, 127, we know your tricks. You've been here for too long, that won't work anymore. The boiler room is off limits, and so is this hallway."
The boiler room, eh?
Candance rolled her eyes, "Fine, sorry, I was actually looking for the medic..girl stuff..nevermind."
She walked off leaving the guards standing uncomfortably in the hallway due to her remark. Being a girl really has it's benefits, she thought.
She made her way back and snuck into the lunch room. She slipped into her seat next to Jay without being noticed. It had been two days since Marisol met Daven for the first time. She had discussed what Alexa found and reassured she was safe. No one had any real plans yet, though.
"Good news. I think I know where that vent Daven's friend found leads to." Candance said.
"Really? Where?" Grimmley asked.
"Down in the East wing there's a hallway, and a big metal door that seams well sealed. Some guards mentioned that it was the boiler room and that its off limits, the entire hallway is." She explained.
Jay looked like he had a revelation and gasped with excitement, "Oh! I've got it! Well, something anyway.. If it's true that the boiler room has a vent that leads outside then we can most defiantly get out that way! The problem is.."
"The guards," Brent chimed in.
"And the insane heat," Daven added.
"And the fact that there's no way we'll ever get in there," Candance said, "The door is locked and those guards didn't look like they had keys."
Jay thought for a while, "Well, getting the guards away from the door is easy. We gotta get those keys. I'm sure there's a way to turn off the heating system.."
"So..how exactly do we do all that stuff? It's kind of hard to get away with anything these days." Grimmley said.
"Well, unless you're Candi, she can get away with anything," Brent chuckled.
"Shut up, I don't get away with everything. I've had my fair share of lashes.." Candance said.
"Don't remind me.." Jay mumbled.
"I can get Marisol to find those keys, and I'm pretty smart when it comes to mechanical stuff..I can probably figure out how to shut the heat off. Can't be that hard right? How do we get rid of the guards?" Daven changed the subject.
The table was silent for several moments before Grimmley spoke up, "Riot."
The table looked at him as if he were crazy.
"No, seriously! We start a riot in the quarry! How, I don't know, but I'm sure we can do it. We just gotta find someone willing to fight one of us to trigger it like a domino effect," He explained.
Daven looked up,"Oh..I think I know who would love to beat me up."
Everyone looked to him, "Remember 335? Acela? She hates my guts and I hate hers...We could start a fight just by being in the same room."
