"So are you not gonna talk to me about why you're so distracted today?" my best friend, Lloyd Carter, asked me.
"Huh...?" I mumbled incoherently.
After our history class, our last class for today, Lloyd and I exited the room and now walking in the hallway along with the other students to go home.
Lloyd let out a laugh. "You spaced out the whole day! When Mrs. Evans asked you about whose assassination sparked the World War, you didn't answer. She called you three times more before she decided to call me instead."
"That happened!?" I exclaimed in surprised. Am I really that distracted today?
He just laughed harder and didn't reply.
Lloyd has been my best friend since daycare. I have known him all my life as we grow old together in a way. He was always there to humor me whenever I feel down.
I was finally cured from my fever and I went straight to school. I guess Lloyd was right. I was really distracted. It was hard not to be. My favorite character appeared in my room two days ago and I don't know why or how.
Ace was left on his own in our house. We told him the basics about where are the food or how he can pass the time but I feel that was not good enough.
I was really anxious about him the whole day that I cannot focused in my classes. I mean, who wouldn't?
Lloyd and I exited the main door of the building. The only thing I like about our school is the exterior design. I looked back and eyed it boredly.
"Hey there's Justin. How come he's here? He never really pick you up from school." Lloyd pointed out in the waiting shed of the school. "Who's that with him?"
I stared over at the waiting shed and sure enough Justin was there. But what surprised me was the fact that Ace was freaking with him.
Justin soon noticed Lloyd and I then ran towards our direction. Ace was not far behind as he tailed him.
"Hi Lloyd! Been a while hasn't it?" Justin was grinning as they fist bumped each other.
"Yeah. Come to our house one of these days. Let's play Overwatch." Lloyd offered with a laugh.
"Sure," Justin agreed.
"So are you gonna introduced me?"
"Oh yeah." Justin cleared his throat. "Lloyd, this is Ace. Ace, this is Lloyd Carter."
He's too bad at introduction. I thought, my face was annoyed.
"Pleasure to meet ya." Lloyd offered a handshake with a smile.
"Yeah, me too." Ace shook his hand.
"By the way, Ace is our cousin—" Justin explained.
"Once removed." Ace butted in with a small smile.
"—from Texas. He's here for a visit." Justin finished.
"Well, I hope you enjoy your time here." Lloyd said with a genuine smile. "I really want to have a chat, but I have errands to do."
I nodded at him. Justin, Ace and I eyed him as he left the school premises. Lloyd just always take a walk home since his house was just around the corner.
"So when did you became our cousin?" I inquired while heaving a sigh. "And why Texas?"
"He's always wearing a cowboy hat, duh!" Justin rolled his eyes.
"Too bad, he doesn't have a Southern accent." I said sarcastically.
I inspected Ace's appearance. He still had his orange cowboy hat with him. He was wearing a white polo with long sleeves. He left the two buttons on top unbottoned. He was also wearing a black pants.
