Two days has gone by fast.
Ace and I managed to watch up to sixty episodes of One Piece. It was slow for me. Back when I first started watching the show, I can watch up to thirty episodes in a day. But right now, I've been very busy because of school. Ace seemed to understand. Sometimes, Justin was also with us.
We finished the whole Romance Dawn arc in a good way. Ace was glad to know how Luffy managed to meet his crew. It was something that Ace had never asked Luffy.
Ace has been there along with Luffy in his adventures, in a matter of speaking. He cheered everytime Luffy has managed to gain a new nakama. He was glad that there were people who stand by with his brother. If there was someone who had had a fight with Luffy, Ace was sure that his younger brother will defeat it.
It was the Sunday morning. Today was the fourtieth birthday of my mother. We made some plans for her to enjoy.
"I'm taking your Mom out. You know what to do right?" Dad told us. He came back inside our house to get his car keys.
Justin and I nodded. We watched our father exited the door. We heard the hum of the car indicating that he and Mom were leaving. Dad decided to take Mom into a date so that we can throw her a surprise party.
"So... What's the plan?" Ace asked as he walked downstairs.
"Morning, Ace!" Justin greeted happily.
"Morning, kid."
I stood up. "Come on, you two. We're gonna bake the most amazing cake ever."
"Can we have breakfast first?" Justin whined.
The three of us went in the dining room. There were already cooked waffles and bacon in the table that was covered. Ace and Justin sat down while I was in the counter making coffee for us.
"We want to bake some birthday cake for our Mom." I told Ace while putting the beans in the coffee machine. "Do you want to help?"
"Sure." Ace agreed. "I kinda have experience when it comes to baking."
"Really?" Justin asked before eating a mouthful of waffles.
"Yeah. Makino..." Ace stopped momentarily. "She helped me bake cakes for Luffy's birthday back then."
Ace never really talks about his past so this was somewhat new. Justin and I shared a look. We didn't inquire any further. Ace was obviously distraught talking about it so we were just glad that he told us about it.
I came back in the table with three coffee mugs in tow.
"Let's do this then." I smiled.

"Kid, you're suppose to separate the egg whites from the yolks before you put it in." Ace explained calmly.
Justin blinked. "Is that so?"
"You've never really baked before, haven't you?" I asked while whisking the batter.
"Nah. I don't like baking. I just love eating." Justin said, grinning.
"That's the spirit!" Ace laughed gently while ruffling my brother's black hair.
We first did the batter. We flavoured it chocolate since in our family, we all love chocolate. We planned to make a three-layer one.
Ace was better at this than I expected. I should need to thank Makino for it, I guess. He actually did helped a lot unlike my younger brother who don't know a thing.
"Hey, Ace, can you just use your fire to bake it faster?" Justin asked.
"Seriously, Jus...?" I raised my eyebrows as I put the batter in one of the pans.
