The Painful Kiss of Augustus
Chapter 8
"Fuck, Sion, keep your eyes on the road!" I warned frustratedly as our car swerved from side to side, creating a screeching sound.
"Come on, August. Chill! I got this!" He spouted.
His voice wobbled. He was drunk. Sion was heartbroken because someone stole his girlfriend. It sounded petty but I would absolutely not judge his feelings. I should have not gone with him. However, Sion was as annoying as hell. He would pique you from time to time just so you could go and grant his whims. There was a faint whisper in me that dissuading me to let him drive but this asshole was adamant to maneuver the car despite his dwindling capability to drive because he was basically fallen into drunken stupor.
"Pull the car up to the side of the road! I will drive!" I hissed as he tried to swerved the car aggressively, making my sanity leap out of my self.
"Gagong Gian, 'yun! He just stole my girlfriend, man! He knew exactly how I feel for Cathy but that bullshit of a asshole dared to steal her away from me!" He wailed.
"Fuck,"
I cursed when I saw a droplets of water started to sprinkle on the glass in front. From one speckle of water to two and all of a sudden it strewed on the surface of it. However, Sion seemed to feign a simple calm expression as the windshield wiper started to glide from side to side. Rain started to pour drastically. Together with the bathed darkness on the road, the floating fog started to percolate throughout the vicinity. My chest swelled with the increasing panic within me. The absolute darkness and unfaltering rain made me pray for our safety. Sion was stubborn, he did not let me take over. Fuck it, I should have texted our driver!
"Damn, man! Stay chill, I can do this!" He hissed but his eyes were languidly fighting the temptation of unconsciousness.
"Fuck, Sion! This is suicidal! Stop the fucking car and let me drive for us!"
We were both underage. We didn't have yet the driving license! This was all wrong and if a cop or a traffic reinforcer would catch us, we absolutely knew where we would go. We took their car without any permission from his parent. Our height and physique embodied perfect maturity as they can deceive the naked eye of anyone who see us so we can go to a bar without being blocked by a bouncer. When we got into the bar, the presence of disappointment surged within me. The usual scent of rhum and cigarettes started to mix up as the neon light bathed the entire room. With the upbeat music concocted with yells and squeals from the party goers, my eyes entirely shut up.
My sanity sagged through my body when a car beamed in front of us. My eyes widened instinctively as I tried to hold the steering wheel. Dryness started to roll throughout my throat as I fell into the room of silence. The car in front of us swerved from side to side, trying to elude from us.
"Damn, Sion!"
"Fuck!" He only cursed.
A deafening beep of the car startled me that I almost forgot to breathe. In an ounce of time, I prayed for my life, for our life to be spared from peeking death. My mind was filled with morphs of images of my life, my memories with my parents and my friends. The car screeched into an abrupt halt. I thought we were dead by now because I couldn't feel any pain, nor could I feel blood streaming out of my cut skin. There was nothing but the stentorian thud coming from my chest
