Remnants of the Shattered Glass

Blankly staring at the rain falling,
Feeling numb with the wind gushing,
Trying to forget every tidbits of feeling,
But repeatedly failing

The memories keep flashing,
As my hopes started crumbling,
Your promises in my slumber I murmur,
Clearly impossible in the future

You left with painful reminders,
In moving on they hinders,
With scars rooted from deep within,
Seems to stop me from breathing

Each time I try to break free from my cage,
All I can see is your eyes full of rage,
Then my hopes come crashing down,
Vividly remembering that dark eyes of brown

Looking at myself in the mirror,
I can see nothing but pure horror,
The brightness those eyes once shown,
Replaced with pure hurt and exasperation,

Your marks in my body can't be erased,
Once clean and pure now tainted,
What a cruel game of fate,
But regret now is late

All I can do is learn to accept,
That life once made me a bait,
A bait in the game of life ,
Where I learned how to fight

Fight the things that's keeping me from moving on,
To experience extreme darkness and shone,
I will never be who I once was,
Because of you and the remnants of the shattered glass
