(Marcus pov)

Finally, my mind was off Grace. I was with my friends about to eat my dinner when I turned and saw both Grace and Jessie. Alfie had called them over. I gave him the ‘what are you doing?’  look and he mouthed ‘just trust me’. I didn’t know what to say when she sat opposite me. As she sat down I glanced up at her. She looked so different. She had a fringe. When I saw her the first time her hair was wavy and you couldn’t tell she had a fringe. All I could think about was the sleepover at Jessie’s house and how special it was. How much I wanted her back.

(my pov)

Jessie sat opposite Alfie which left me no choice but to sit opposite Marcus. I looked at him when I sat down. He didn’t look up. He was so beautiful. I had to speak to him but I didn’t know what I would say.

(Jessie pov)

Alfie gave me a kiss on the cheek and I sat opposite him.

“You look beautiful” he smiled at me and I looked down to try and hide the fact that I was blushing. Grace sat next to me and Marcus was sitting by Alfie. It was so awkward for the first few minutes. No one was talking and we hadn’t been called to get our dinner yet.

“So how are you?” Alfie asked Grace to try and start a conversation.

“Fine thanks, you?” Grace smiled at him and he smiled back.

“Yeah I’m good thanks” Alfie replied.

“Good.”

“What about you, Marcus.” I gave him a reassuring smile as I asked him.

“I’m fine thank you” he smiled at me, looked at Grace and then looked down at the table.

After about a minute, our table got called to go and get something to eat. Me and Alfie walked together and Grace and Marcus were in front. They were talking but I couldn’t hear what they were saying.

(my pov)

“Listen, Marcus” I had to tell him how even if I was scared “I thought you didn’t like me anymore. I was distraught! He came onto me and…”

“It’s ok”

I paused in shock “Seriously?” I didn’t mean for that to come out. He looked at me curiously.

“Yeah, I mean, I suppose it wasn’t your fault. I was just… when I saw it… you and him, I was upset because I really like you” he looked at the floor and then up at me.

I turned to the floor and smiled“I really like you too” was all I could say.

He looked at me and we smiled at each other. I giggled. His dimples were so cute.

“You look beautiful tonight” he said looking at me. Even though I was in my wedges, he was still a little taller than me.

“Thank you” I could feel my cheeks going red. “So do you”.

He laughed “Thank you. Hey, do you and Jessie want to come over to mine and Alfie’s dorm tonight? You’re not meant to but what the teachers don’t know won’t hurt them.” By this time we were getting our food from the dinner ladies.

“Sure, that would be great.”

“Cool.”

We got our food and went to sit back down. At least it wasn’t awkward anymore. We were all talking and laughing while we were eating. Marcus asked Jessie if she wanted to come over tonight as well.
