The Unknown Life

Darkness

Darkness. Darkness is beautiful. People say they are afraid of darkness. That's not true. They are afraid of what lurks in the darkness. Darkness itself is beautiful.

Most people are in the darkness their entire life. I am too. No one knows everything. I don't know everything that I could know. I don't know where people go when they vanish. I don't know where Rosalie went. I don't know why the signal didn't reach me. I don't know why I was spared. I don't know how my life is going to go.

Being in darkness is dangerous.

That's what everyone says.

Is that true though?

They themself are in darkness. They pretend they aren't. They pretend that they know everything. They don't say that to the people. They are the Supremacy. The Supremacy Scientists.

We are not equal.

The Supremacy have more power. They have more light. They aren't in the dark. They know about everything, they say they do, but they don't know one thing.

They don't know about me. They don't know that I am an Unknown.

That is the very fact that ruined my life. I'm an Unknown. My life is unknown. I don't know what is coming.

I can't be who I am. I have to pretend

Or they will get me. Rosalie can't help me now. I have to save myself.

It's not only the Supremacy Scientists I have to escape. I have to escape the darkness.

Being in the darkness is peaceful. That's why so many people choose to be in it.

Being in the light can do many bad things to people. It turned the Supremacy Scientists into bad people. It made Rosalie disappear. Who knows what else it has done to other people. These are only the people who know what is coming in their lives. I don't know that.

Still, I need to be out of the dark. I need to keep my vow. I need to know.

I have been in darkness my whole life.

I woke up to darkness. The time I last saw Rosalie. I remember the darkness surrounding me.

The darkness was there for what seemed like forever. I tried opening my eyes but I couldn't. I tried to move my hands but I couldn't. My legs, my head, my mouth, my whole body wouldn't move.

So I stayed laying there in the darkness.

It was forever in the darkness.

I didn't mind. Darkness is peaceful. I knew it was the only time darkness would be peaceful for me.

So I embraced it.

Then I heard voices. Hushed scratchy voices. I knew immediately who they were. They were the Lost.

The Lost are people who have chosen the wrong path. When they got the signal, they chose the wrong life. They wanted to be more supreme than the Supremacy Scientists. The scientists did manipulate their DNA, but soon after they notified the Supremacy. Being more supreme is the second biggest violation in the world, after being a Unknown.

They are given the worst possible torture. Having your DNA manipulated while being completely conscious and alive.

The pain is unmeasurable. It hurts more than having your whole body torched then picked apart by crows. It hurts more than having a burning needle picking apart your insides while burning it at the same time.

The life after is worse than that. They don't vanish you, they let you suffer from your horribly manipulated DNA. They make your mouth feel like it is being picked apart by sharp nails each time you speak, which made their voices scratchy. They made your heart feel like it is burning each time you breathe. They make your skin sting every time you move.

I focused my attention on the Lost people. They were laughing. Maniacally. I did not know what was coming for me.

A Lost came up to me and opened my eyes. I opened my eyes to see the horrific face of three Losts. I saw that my whole body was bound to a bed. I saw the DNA manipulation equipment next to the bed.

They were going to manipulate my DNA.

"Here's the plan," one of them said, "We are going to manipulate your DNA. We will watch you suffer. We will make you follow our every command. Once you are under our control, we will make you vanish a fourth of the world's population. Obviously, everyone will be scared. The Supremacy won't be anything about it, we know you are a Unknown, you don't have your life planned. Then we will make threaten the scientists to make our DNA how it was before, probably even better. After that, we will go off vanishing the Supremacy Scientists and be the most supreme beings alive."

"Congrats! You won't have to be alive to see our cruelty," Another one said, "We'll kill you right after we are done with you.

I knew I had to get out, but I did not know how. I was in the dark.

I looked to my side and saw they were preparing the needle that started off the manipulation process. Then quicker than I can comprehend, the needle jabbed into my heart and the pain engulfed me. The outside of me was in peaceful darkness, but my inside was nothing but dark, it was covered in the roar of flames and pain. 

I couldn't stop them. 

A/N: So if you can't tell most of this chapter is a flashback/background story. The flashback/ background story hasn't ended yet, I left it on a cliffhanger. Mwahahahaha. I'm evil.
