Kidnapped By the Gang Leader

**Chapter 28**

Anxious.

Nervous.

Scared.... are only three of many emotions washing over me as we walk down the steps. On our way down, Dakota calls for the rest of the gang to meet in the living room.

As everyone gathers around, my heart picks up the pace, beating rapidly. The way everyone is looking at us—especially Owen— doesn't make the situation any better.

You have to tell them. They deserve to know..

So here goes nothing

"So um... we found out some weird things about our parents, including my biological parents..." I start. When Owen hears me mention my real parents, his face lights up. He's probably happy for me.

"Isn't that a good thing? I mean finally hearing about your actual parents?" He asks. If only he knew.

"It is. It really is but, it's more about what we heard about them." Their facial expressions instantly changes from curious to confused.

My heart picks up the pace. I'm sure in about two seconds, my stomach's going to fall to my ass. I've never been this nervous about something in my life.

"You guys don't have to tell us if you don't want to, you know." I send Carter a reassuring smile.

"Yeah but, it's something you guys need to know."
Dakota says before turning to me to finish. Thanks!

"Dakota and I's parents are leaders of the most notorious gang in the entire nation-"

"Sterling"

Everyone is shocked. However, Owen's face is emotionless. He just stares at me with a straight face. My pulse increases and I'm sure I'm turning red from nervousness. I wish I could read his mind; it would put me more at ease to know what he's thinking. All good things I hope.

"Yeah......" Dakota says, I think. Owen and I continue staring at each other and at this point, I can't take it. I get up to walk out the room when Owen's hand wraps around my arm, stopping me from moving. 

Everyone is completely silent and it's scaring the shit out of me. I don't know what anyone is thinking and in this moment, I wish I could read mind. Carter gets up from his seat.

"So does this mean you guys are leaving?" He asks. Alexander jumps up immediately after.

"I'm sure they don't have to leave, right? They can stay..."

Owen turns to me. "Are you guys going to stay?" All eyes are completely on us and I am shocked but in "awe"  at the fact that they want us to stay. I look down at Dakota who looks like she's on the verge of tears.

"Should we?" Owen looks at me confused while everyone else looks a little hurt. 

"What do you mean by that?" Nicholae steps in the doorway but I ignore him.

"Look, I didn't think it was okay to say anything because... I thought you guys would look at us differently. I thought you would look at us as the daughters of one of the most dangerous gang leaders and not Dakota and Udria. 

"You think that?" Owen asks hurt. He steps closer, the palm of his hand holds my neck and his thumb caresses my cheek. "You guys will always be apart of this gang."

"And you will always be Dakota and Udria." Iris says as she gets up and walks over to Dakota, hugging her before walking to me. Owen backs up to give Iris some space. She goes in for a hug and I hug her back. 

Sebastian grabs Dakota's face and kisses her. My face lights up with pure excitement. Finally, they kissed. He pulls away and Dakota gushes as she turns to me. Sebastian tries to hide is red cheeks but fails miserably and the guys start teasing him.

Looking at everyone laughing makes me smile. I'm happy they took it well. Couldn't ask to be apart of a better gang. 

Owen grabs my hands and nods in the direction of the steps. The guys are still teasing Seb and the girls are gushing with Dakota, so we managed to slip out easily. However, Nicholae and I make eye contact and he doesn't hesitate to send a wink.

He's annoying!
