Malika had always been pretty childish. At first, some of her brothers had hoped that she might be graced with reason in addition to her immense power. Turns out it was probably to much to ask as God continued to prove He wasn't on their side. Not only did she still have the wants of a spoiled child, since her birth, she had proved to have quite the temper and her brothers slowly lost hope of being graced with a wise sibling. At that, Malika had always snickered. She could turn her brain to the "boring mode" as she liked to call it but she simply didn't want to. She thought the world to be much more fun seen through the eyes of a child. So, everytime one of her older brothers, mainly Lucifer, Egyn or Samael would look at her and sigh or growl at her to grow up, she would pull their tail and run away. Right now, Malika was very tempted to do so as Samael had pulled her from her game to glare and admonish her for playing her games in his "crap school" and that it had injured the students.
"Really, I don't know why he's so angry with me! I'm not the one to have summoned the demon! Plus, It happened forever ago!" A whole night had passed since she had played with the teacher's mind! And she hadn't injured Rin! And yet she had to sit through a scolding from her older brother. Well.... Now that she thought about it she really didn't need to... But if she made Samael mad he could tell Father and destroy the small chance She had that he hadn't noticed she had left.... Suddenly the young demon king had an idea. She left, leaving behind an image of a contrite looking Malika which would make Samael think his scolding really got through when she was in fact miles away from the boring situation.
Malika got out of her brother's office, immediatly looking for her younger brother. She quickly found him walking back home from school. She thought about continuing to observe him from the outside but she had been looking without interfering for hooouurs already and she was bored so she decided to shake things up. She took the form of a cat: She had observed several in Assiah since she came here. She then got in the way of Rin and meowled.
"meow." "Oh hey you! What are you doing here? Looking for birds?" The boy asked kneeling down to pet the cat. "You're very pretty, your fur is very soft! Are you a demon? I've never seen a blue cat before." To that, Malika opted to play the innocent card, purring and rubbing her head on the boy's shirt. The teenager laughed softly, petting the cat some more. The cat was purring like crazy, rubbing herself on him and setting down on his lap. The boy spent almost an hour just petting the cat and talking to her in a soft, gentle voice. From the corner of the eye, Rin caught a orange glint from the sky and snapped out of the gentle bubble he was in, realising that the sun was setting. Shock sparked in his eyes as he hadn't expected so much time to have passed. He quickly got up looking around in panic. "Sorry little cat I've to go now!" He started to leave almost running to reach his dorm quicker. Malika ran after the boy meowling. At first he didn't notice the high pitched sound following him. He stopped running, looking around for the source of the sound. When he finally looked down to, once again, find the cat, his eyes widenend. "Hey, I'm going home now, you should too." He started walking again in less of a hurry than he was before. His brother would scold him anyway when he would get home so what was the point of running? He might as well enjoy the walk. He looked over his shoulder again to discover the cat was still following him. He turned around looking down at the cat. He rubbed the back of his head in thought. Malika looked up at him, sitting down to meowl pittifuly at him. "What's wrong kitty? Why aren't you going home?" The half demon crouched down again to look more closely at the cat. "Hum... You don't have a collar... Don't you have a home little kitty?" She meowled again rubbing her head on his hand. "Are you hungry? Wanna come home with me?" Malika rubbed herself more fermly on the boy, getting up on his lap once more to lick at his nose. Rin chuckled a little bit. "I'll take that as a yes!" He picked up the cat and started walking back to his dorm.
When he finally got home, Rin tried to be very quiet so that Yukio wouldn't know he's home. He felt exactly as he had when he got home late from fights, in what seemed like ages ago. He got into the kitchen greeting Ukobaku, to find some fish to give his new cat, which he let down to explore. Which she didn't, she opted to sit down on the counter to stare at his every move. When he did find fish to give her, he put it in a bowl and put it down before her. She started to eat slowly while Rin rubbed her behind the ears. "I guess you need a name, right?" Malika sat up and resumed her staring. "What about.... hummm... I KNOW! I'll call you Lucy, like in my shojou manga!" The cat looked away a weird expression on her face. Rin looked down at her and frowned. " Looks like you don't like that, uh?" Malika sent the boy an unimpressed look, couldn't he think of a less boring name? The young half demon tried several female names from multiple works of fiction he liked never finding one that satisfied both him and the cat. He then started to say random names that gradually became more and more obscure but at everyone of them the cat seemed to grimace. He finally gave up, ruling on calling her "Kitty" for one more day. "You seem to like the fish are you finished?" She meowled in answer, jumping in his arms. "Wait! I know! FISH! That's what I will call you!" That was a funny name the girl thought. She licked his nose to signifie her ascent. The boy grinned wide and laughed, petting the cat some more. "You like that name Fish?" He laughed again. "You're such a weird cat!" By now he was talking pretty loudly having forgotten his plan to keep quiet as to not warn Yukio of his presence. "Where in Gehenna were you!?" The angry voice of Yukio resonated behind Rin, making him freeze. He'd stopped laughing, the cat safely tucked against his chest, his eyes wide in surprise. Suddenly, Rin felt scared that Yukio would take Fish for a demon and shoot her on sight. Or maybe he'd shoot him if the coldness in his brothers voice was any indication.
"I CAN EXPLAIN" The teen exclaimed, jumping spectacularly. The scene looked straight out of a goofy cartoon and Malika would have rolled to the ground in laughter had she not been a cat. Even so, the boy's brother didn't even blink, still starring icily at his brother. His stare was full of cold anger that promised pain to Rin did he not possess a good explanation.
While Rin was hurrying to explain himself, Malika only stared at the newcomer, startled. From the beginning, she had only deemed Rin interesting as he was the only one of the two in possession of the blue flames that only the king of hell possessed but she was now realizing it might have been a mistake as the boy she was seeing in front of her looked almost exactly like her father down to the stare that gave you shivers down your back. She stared more, unable to look away and slowly, a sunrise of excitement flowed inside her. This was just expending her playground of possibilities. Her father look alike looked down to her, seemingly having just noticed her. She started to listen to the conversation again, looking away as to not give away her intelligence level. Rin might have stupidly believed she was a 'normal' blue cat but she knew as soon as Yukio looked inside her eyes it would be over. She listened to Rin telling the story of how he'd found her and pleading with his brother to keep her. After a while Yukio agreed as long as the other was the one to take care of her and the boy carrying her started to walk away from the kitchen to probably his room. The cat looked back over the boy's shoulder to ogle one last time at the younger twin and smirked to herself. As much as a cat could smirk anyway. Yes, this was already so much fun![sorry. Not even going to bother to give you an excuse but I feel a little bit better now😕]
