A Very Important Announcement

Hi New Writers 

We have some very unfortunate news. We will have to put a cap on the number of submissions we accept for all our future competitions, including May. We are very sorry about this but we are understaffed, under-funded and have far too little judges. Trying to get through 90-100+ submission is just not possible when you consider that the organisers also have responsibilities outside of this competition. 

We haven't decided yet, but we will probably cap it at 40-50 submissions. Even that is a lot for us to go through. We know that it may disappoint many of you - we are also disappointed - but we didn't expect this competition to take off the way it has and we are very grateful and surprised but it's simply not workable at the moment. It is like we have taken on a full-time job and we still have another life to get to. 

If you would like to help us out and make sure that we can accept as many submissions as we are given, there are two ways to do so:

1. You can sign up to be a judge, please read through the judging criteria on what we require of you to be a judge before you contact us so there are no problems. If you would like to be a judge please just message us and we will explain the procedure. 

2. You can help to fund us. We don't ask for a lot, all we ask is if you are able to then please buy us a coffee through the link in our bio (www.buymeacoffee.com/thenewwriterawards). Every $3 makes a massive difference and helps to keep this ship running. We would greatly appreciate it. It will help us to grow and get better at things. 

We are very sorry about this turn of events but it is simply not possible for us to keep going at this rate. We hope you all understand. Please feel free to ask us any questions should you have them.
