-Adelaide-
Addy listened to every word Brennon spoke with so much interest in what he had to say. She loved stories, especially love stories. And there was no way she could miss the way his pupils dilated just at sight of a single picture of the girl he was going to see and the way his voice softened as he said her name. Addy was good at noticing peoples expression. Wether they were trying to hide their anger or their sadness, or they were in love. And Brennon was clearly in love.
Addy longed to know what it felt like to be loved the way Brennon seemed to love this girl. It wasn't until then that she realized she never had, despite what she used to be told. Just as looks could be deceiving, words could, too. If she didn't know that before, she definitely did now.
Addy was so caught up in imagining what she should have felt like in the three years that she was in a relationship that the question Brennon asked her had caught her off-guard.
"Is it a guy?" He had asked. His expression was playful, so Addy tried to not to ruin his good mood with the negativity of her situation. She thought the question over, trying not to let the uneasiness show on her face.
She shrugged and said, "I guess you could say that."
It wasn't really an answer, Addy knew that. There was so much more to it, and anyone with a brain could pick up on that. When he asked, Addy only said she'd explain later. She didn't intend to actually do it, and she hoped he'd just forget about it so she wouldn't have to.
Ten minutes later, the two sat on the floor in front of Brennon's laptop, looking up things to do when you're stuck in an airport overnight. Neither had imaginations big enough to come up with something to do on their own, and both came to the conclusion that Google was their only option.
They clicked on the first link that came up and read through the list. None sounded very fun.
"Okay, this says we could sleep..." Brennon said, scrolling through the list.
"I've been doing that for hours." Addy told him. Brennon nodded, keeping his eyes on the screen.
"Read.."
"That too." Addy rolled her eyes.
"Eat?"
"We literally just left the cafe'."
"Yeah, you're right..." He trailed off, scrolling and reading through the list. "This says that we can swim." His eyebrows were furrowed. Addy leaned over to look at his screen. "I didn't even know airports had swimming pools."
"Me either." Addy said. "That's kind of weird."
"Yeah, it is." Brennon agreed. He looked at Addy and shrugged. "Wanna go swimming?"
Addy looked at him, trying her hardest to keep a straight face.
"I wouldn't mind it." She said. "Except it's night time, and it's fifty degrees outside."
Brennon looked out the window, then back at Addy.
"Oh, right." He looked back at his laptop as Addy chuckled.
Addy was looking at her phone screen now, not paying any attention to what Brennon was looking at on his laptop. It took a few minutes before he finally found something else.
"This says there are museums and malls that are opened all night." Addy looked up from her phone, raising her eyebrows.
"So, we just leave the airport.?" She looked at him with a funny expression.
