-Brennon-
When Brennon suggested that the two play Twenty Questions, he had felt stupid immediately. It seemed like such a childish thing, like they were teenagers who were texting for the first time and knew nothing about each other. Of course, Brennon didn't really know anything about Addy, and Addy knew nothing about him. They were strangers. But he was about to spend the next few hours with her, so he needed to know something.
Addy had suggested a "photoshoot." Apparently, according to her, Times Square was the perfect place to take pictures. Brennon didn't really know if he should be letting a stranger take pictures of him, but the whole hanging out thing was his idea. They hardly knew each other, and he didn't wanna come off as a dick.
So as the two walked around Times Square looking at all the lights and the people, they played twenty questions, Addy occasionally telling him to stop so she could get pictures. Of course, after the first few questions they had run out of things to ask. So far, Brennon knew that she is 18 years old, just a year younger than he is, her birthday is in February, her favorite color is black, and she lived in Florida. After pausing for a few seconds without asking any questions, the two referred to Google. Brennon clicked the first link that came up.
"Okay, this says 'Given the choice of anyone in the world, whom would you want as a dinner guest?" Brennon looked up from his phone at Addy, who was looking around scoping out places to take pictures. When she didn't say anything, he gave her his answer. "Probably my grandmother."
Addy looked at him with her eyebrows slightly raised. "Why? Has she passed away?"
"Oh, no." Brennon shook his head and smiled. "She's alive. She just really fun to be around, and she cooks really good."
"So you'd choose someone you've already eaten dinner with before as your dinner guest?" Addy asked incredulously.
"Yeah, why not." Brennon shrugged. "Plus, I haven't seen her in a while. She practically raised me, but she stays in a nursing home now."
Addy didn't say anything. She just nodded.
"What about you?"
"Mine would have to be someone who doesn't talk a lot." Brennon gave her a questioning look. "I'm kind of awkward, and I can't talk and eat at the same time."
The two walked across the street, pausing when Addy told Brennon to face her. She snapped the picture and they stepped onto the sidewalk.
"Next question." Brennon looked down at his phone again. "Would you like to be famous? If so, in what way."
They looked at each other and shook their heads, moving onto the next question.
"When making a phone call, do you rehearse what you're going to say?" Brennon looked back up at Addy, waiting for her answer.
"Uh, no." She said. "I mean, if its something important then maybe."
"What do you mean something important? Like, if you're calling about a job or paying bills or something?" Brennon asked her. Addy shrugged.
"Yeah, and like, when I order pizza and stuff like that."
Brennon laughed.
"Is that what you call important?" he asked though his chuckle.
"What? That's important!" she exclaimed, laughing with him. She looked away from him as she smiled, but not quick enough to stop him from noticing the dimple in her left cheek. When the two calmed down, he looked away.
"Whatever you say."
They walked through the streets of New York together, passing by fewer and fewer people as the night grew old. Addy snapped pictures, sometimes without Brennon even knowing. Brennon turned and made a funny face at her, laughing as she snapped the picture and rolled her eyes. This time, he got a peek of both of her dimples and the way her eyes crinkles slightly at the corners when she smiled. It was kind of cute.
