"tree house time" - naegami

based off of a headcanon my friend and i came up with :)

ever since they were little, makoto and byakuya have always been friends. even if byakuya never showed it at school, he had a soft spot for makoto. they grew up a couple of neighborhoods down from each other and met at a park. byakuya had changed significantly from when he was young.

(this is a personal headcanon of mine with child byakuya)

when byakuya was young he always liked to play around in a park although he never really had friends to do so, that was until he met makoto. his parents always loved to see their son happy but byakuya was a shy boy.

one day his parents took him to a park where he met makoto, a happy and optimistic boy who wanted a friend too. he saw byakuya lonely on the swings and walked up to him.

"hi! whats your name?" the mystery boy asked cheerfully to byakuya

"uhm..byakuya." he had responded in a monotone kind of voice

"oooh! i like your name! mines makoto, its nice to meet you!", the makoto boy gave him a soft smile with his cheery voice and took the swing next to byakuya, "say.. wanna be friends?"

a friend? that'd be nice.. a friend to play with and have by his side

"hm..sure why not? i've never really had a friend.."

"hey we're kinda similar! i've never really had a friend either.. i only have one but she had to move because she had some sort of talent to pursuit. i really miss her though..."

byakuya looked over at makoto, sad to see the depressed expression on his face, "hey.. maybe she'll come back? i'm sure if you guys were really good friends, she wouldn't forget you!"

makoto looked at him, his face lighting up again, "hey, i guess you're right!"

the two boys laughed and played with each other until byakuyas parents called for him

"i'll see you again hopefully!"

"yeah... bye makoto!"

"bye byakuya!" makoto ran off while byakuya went up to his parents telling them about his new friend. his parents were happy their boy made a new friend.

ever since that day byakuya and makoto have been inseparable. when the two boys were around 7 years old, byakuyas parents had made a treehouse in their backyard for son and his friend. it had a small matress and a bunch of things they had both enjoyed. as they grew up they added picutres and many other things to that treehouse.

that place had been their safe spot, where they would go to hang out and be bestfriends. be kids again. where the other could vent.

eventually in highschool, both boys had started to take a liking to each other, and thats when the togami family didn't really like makoto, but they still allowed him over nonetheless. the naegi family loved byakuya, especially his sister, so they were accepting when makoto had came out to them saying he had liked byakuya.

one day all hell broke loose...

makoto and byakuya were hanging out after school doing some homework. makoto didn't understand this bullshit math, nor did he wanna understand it.

"byakuyyaaaaa" makoto whined

"yes makoto?" byakuya let out a long sigh

"i don't wanna learn this bssssssss"

"you have to makoto."

"but i don't waaaannnnnnnaaaaaaa" makoto put his hood on whined

"if you don't wanna fail, i suggest you do it"
