Arthit

Today would be his last day at the elementary school. He felt saddened to know that he would no longer see his kids again. For a very long time, before he had met Knot or married him Arthit's dream aside from being an artist had been to have children. Being gay did not mean that it was not possible for him to have children. There were other alternatives like adoption or renting a womb. Arthit loved children and always dreamed of being a father. Boy or girl did not matter maybe both as long as he could make the children happy and feel loved that was all that mattered to him.

It became very clear to him that he would never get to have any children after marrying Knot. Not only would it not be a safe environment for them to be in but the man had made it clear to him that he would never want to have a family with him even if there was that possibility.

"You are my pet nothing more." Knot had said to him. After he'd come home from the museum to what Knot had thought was Arthit helping the trophy wives with their children he had received a scolding.

"How could you ever think that you would be good with children?" Knot had gone on about how useless he was and he'd told Arthit that he was never allowed to be around children or have them. He would never stand for Arthit being a teacher. If he knew what Arthit had been up to for the past few months he would have been dead.

Taking a deep breath Arthit went towards the principal's office, he offered a smile to Mr. Jaturapoom's secretary Prim before she told him that he could come in. Arthit squeezes the letter of resignation that he had in his hand wishing that he didn't have to do this. Sadly Arthit knew that it was his only choice.

"Principal Jaturapoom..." Arthit called out. The older man was sitting at his desk and when he looked up at Arthit he offered him a smile.

"Arthit come in." Arthit bit the inside of his cheek unsure of what to say. Principal Jaturapoom motioned for Arthit to sit but instead, Arthit shook his head.

"Actually... I came to give you this." Arthit whispered quietly before he handed Principal Jaturapoom his resignation letter. There was surprise written on the other man's face.

"This is so sudden. Is there something you're unhappy with?" The look in the other man's eyes was of concern. There was a fatherly look in his eyes as he spoke.

"Please Arthit have a seat."

"Mr. Jaturapoom."

"I prefer Dusit, Arthit."

"Mr. Dusit...." Arthit spoke hesitantly causing the older man to smile as he urged Arthit to sit. When he did so Mr. Jaturapoom took the letter in his hand, opened up the envelope, and began to read it.

"Arthit. Are you in trouble." Mr. Jaturapoom's question made him tense. His mind went completely blank and fear set in.

"I know that your life is not my business. But if there's anything I can do for you I will." The way Mr. Jaturapoom spoke to him made him want to cry. More so because he knew that Mr. Jaturapoom meant every word that he was saying.

"It's okay... I'm not in trouble." Arthit whispered softly.

"Then why do you want to quit."

"I think it's time for me to move on... My dream was never to be a teacher... I'd like to venture out and do other things." He whispered softly. Mr. Jaturapoom was quiet for a long time. He silently observed Arthit's face and as he did so, Arthit could feel his heart racing in fear. He felt afraid that somehow Mr. Jaturapoom would know what he was up to.
