CHAPTER SEVENTEEN,
narrative & instagram ( tuesday )zara walked into the house feeling completely drained. not only did she endure 8 hours of hell in school, but she also had to volunteer today at her local animal shelter. although it was 100% her choice to do volunteering she still took it seriously as if it was a full time job.
she slipped her shoes off by the door before dropped her handbag onto the kitchen island. "hey vinnie" zara smiled as she greeted the boy who was currently sitting on the living room couch.
"can you come here for a sec" vinnie asked, turning to look at her. zara pulled her braids up into a ponytail as she walked to take a seat beside him.
"what's the deal with hossler" vinnie asked while looking at her intently. "nothing really" she shrugged, "i just became friends with him like last weekend" she replied while maintaining eye contact.
"no i mean why does he like you, why does he keep talking about you" vinnie spat out all at once without thinking his word choice over. it was a bad habit of his.
zara furrowed her eyebrows for a moment before shaking her head, "you know what ima just pretend like you didn't just say that".
before vinnie could even argue she grabbed her bag and headed straight into her bedroom, making sure to slam the door behind her. she already had such a stressful day and the last thing she needed on top of all that was more complications with her and vinnies relationship.
the break they were on was supposed to fix their relationship and help them grew back their bond, which it was doing, but as usual nothing good ever lasts for them. at least not in the past two months.
vinnie sighed as he rested his head in his hands. he tried to organize his thoughts while switching his attention to the spinning of the ceiling fan. counting the number of times it creaks. 97. 97 times in fifteen minutes.
after that little break vinnie felt as if it was finally time to go talk to zara again. he learned over time that he shouldn't speak out of anger or frustration so now that he was calmer he could get his points through clearer.
vinnie headed upstairs and towards the second door on the right hallway. he jiggled with the silver door knob just to find out the door was shut. "zara please open the door. i'm sorry okay, the words just came out wrong".
earning no reply vinnie knocked on the door, "zara come on i know you hear me". after a few seconds of silence vinnie was convinced he was going to be stuck sleeping on the couch tonight. luckily, just before he was about to head downstairs, he heard the door creak open, making his head snap back around.
"i was in the shower" zara lowly said while pulling the door open. vinnies eyes, unconciesly, trailed over the brown skins toned, slim body. she was dressed in a white lace bralette, and pink silk pajama shorts. it was one of her usual sleepwear outfits so vinnie was used to seeing her in it, but still it always left him in awe on how beautiful she was.
"i just wanted to apologize" vinnie said as his eyes connected with hers, "what i said came out wrong and i really didn't mean to offend you baby, i'm just not used to there being other guys and i don't mean to sound selfish but you know i get jealous easily and jad-"
zara quickly cut his rant short by connecting their lips. she was never the bold type in their relationship and always let vinnie take the lead but after talking to estella before her shower, zara felt as if she now knew what to do to make things right again.
