Previously in Book 1: Yoru and Sesshomaru - The Beginning, Yoru gets dragged into the Feudal Era 500 years back along with her cousin Kagome. Yoru meets Sesshomaru and learns that she is his familiar.
After Sesshomaru and transferred some of its poison attribute powers to Yoru, she started travelling with him and a demon imp name Jaken while Kagome travels with Sesshomaru younger half brother Inuyasha.
The trio then encounters a young orphaned child name Rin whom Yoru is protective of and will not forgive Kagome's ally, Koga, leader of the Demon Wolf Tribe for nearly killing Rin. In the last chapter, Sesshomaru and Inuyasha defeated the Panther demon Master with Yoru collapsing due to exhausion and woke up to a breakfast prepared by Sesshomaru.
* Yoru's Pov *
It's a peaceful night tonight when I was watching Rin from afar who is gazing at the night sky. I let out a comfortable sigh as I look up into the sky as well.
When Rin's stomach had grumbled, Sesshomaru tells Rin that she needed to get her own food. Rin nods and immediately sets off alone. Ehh... Alone?!
"Sesshomaru-"
"You can go with her. Jaken, take A-Un with you and look after Rin" says Sesshomaru and I smiled.
"Arigatou Sesshomaru!" I said and went to Rin.
"Rin, let's look for food together" I said.
"Okay!" Rin exclaims while Jaken was still sulking.
After walking for quite a distace, Rin questions Jaken about the distance which Jaken complained until we find food. I sighed and knock his Jaken.
"That wasn't nice Jaken" I said.
"Great, now I'm being bullied" He says.
"Jaken-sama, just how are you of service to Sesshomaru-sama?" Rin questions.
Okay she has a point. I never really questioned Jaken before and neither have I ask Sesshomaru about his encounter with Jaken.
"W-Whaa- I have serve him in many ways!" says Jaken.
Just as Rin questions how, Jaken stopped his talking and I look behind to see that he was staring at that orange-red moon. That moon is of a weird coloour tonight...
"Listen Rin, today you shall witness how I serve Sesshomaru-sama!" says Jaken who is strangely determined.
Hmm, I wonder what kind of scheme is he planning... The next morning when I woke up, Jaken was no longer around.
"Geez, that imp" I mumbled.
"A-Un, take care of Rin and when she wakes up come look for us" I said and immediately left to look for Jaken.
After looking through the bamboo forest for a moment, I see Jaken talking to whom he calls No-Man. Alright, what is this imp up to?
"Get close to them and steal Tetsusaiga!" Jaken orders.
My eyes widen. So that's what he meant by trying to prove his service to Sesshomaru. He is going to steal Inuyasha's Tetsusaiga.
After No-Man left, I came out the bush, much to Jaken's surprise. I glared at him and gave him some punches.
"I'd knew you were up to no good Jaken" I said.
Just then, No-Man returns and Jaken immediately questions him of the Tetsusaiga. No-Man then takes what some toys that belongs to Shippo, a piece of Inuyasha's clothes and-
My eyes widen. Sacred jewel fragment! Those are Kagome's! Just as Jaken hits No-Man's head with his Two Headed Staff, he drops Kagome's things which I swiftly takes it.
"Jaken, stop making so much noise!" I said and hit his head.
Just then, Rin came along, asking if the demon could handle it and I sighed.
"Rin, you saw everything?" I ask.
"More or less" says Rin.
"Baka Jaken" I said and headed out to return the Sacred Jewel fragments back to Kagome.
