Chapter Five
"I got on the team!"
"What?"
As soon as I entered our cabin, I noticed boxes. My heart raced slightly. Are we leaving again? What's happening?
I noticed Mum putting things in boxes, carefully. "Uh, Mum, what's going on? Are we leaving? Why? We just got here!"
"Calm down," Mum advises me. "We're moving into Derek's."I almost choked. "Wait, what? Since when have you and Derek been on speaking terms?"
"Since yesterday," a small blush forms on Mum's cheeks, causing me to smile. "As soon as he found out we were living in the rooms he kinda forced me into agreeing that we should stay at his for a while."
"Why? I thought we were perfectly safe here." I admitted, looking around the small cabin that I was just beginning to call home.
"I thought so too," Mum sighed. "Until Kate decided to show up. He claims that we're vulnerable without his protection."
"Vulnerable?" I scoffed. "Does he forget that we're a family of hunters? Well, ex-hunters. We're stocked with weapons."
"I never was a hunter," she huffs out proudly. "We're moving into Derek's tonight. He's coming over soon."
"You'll like his place," I tell her. "It's more you."
"Anyways," she quickly moved on from the conversation and walked closer to me. "What's this about you being on a team?"
I beamed. "Turns out, I actually like playing lacrosse. Kira and I are the first females to be on that team."
"Congratulations, bub," she hugs me. "We'll celebrate tonight, yeah?" She smiled at me. "Your Dad was team captain of the basketball team, did you know that?"
"Hm, yeah, I did," I nod. "He'll be stocked, won't he?"
"He'll proud, yeah," she smiled fondly like she was remembering something. "His goal for his kids was to play a good sport so that he could teach them. Though he never learnt lacrosse, I'm sure he wouldn't mind learning a new sport for you."
That made my heart warm. There was a knock on the door, it gradually opened as we turned around. It was Derek... Dad. "Hey," he greets, this made my stomach turn excitedly. "You guys ready to go?"
I've never seen my parents in the same room before, this is exciting. "Yeah," Mum answered shyly, looking around. "I've packed up everything. You'll never guess what Addison got today,"
I smiled nervously as Derek looked at me. "I got on the lacrosse team today," I explained. "Along with Kira, we are the first females to ever join."
He smiled widely. "I'm so proud of you-"
"I feel like I somehow cheated," I admitted. "Not only with the whole wolf thing, but Scott and Stiles went easy on me as well."
"You deserved that spot, fair and square," Derek tells me. "Just like Scott did. And the boys probably didn't want to hurt you."
I rolled my eyes. "We all know I'll be the one hurting them."
My parents laughed. "That's right," Derek agreed and it a matter about five hours, we had officially moved into Derek's loft.
I frowned at the books in front of me as I lie on Stiles' bed with him next to me. Stiles promised he would help study for Math.
"I don't get it," I groaned out, face planting in Stiles' bed. "I hate Maths."
"It's not that bad-"
I looked up, flicking the hair out of my face and looked at Stiles. "It's literally impossible for me to understand." I run a hand through my hair. "So, uh, Lydia said you had something to tell me."
His eyes widen adorably and he glanced at me. "She did?" I nodded. "Of course she did."
"What does she mean by that?" I asked, gazing at him. "I mean, you don't have to tell me."
"It's just..." Stiles mumbled out, then begins to mumble under his breath quickly, which caused me to frown.
"Stiles," I cut him off sharply, raising an eyebrow. "You know you can tell me anything..."
"I like you," he had blurted out, catching me completely off guard. "And I mean more than a friend, I-I've liked you for a while. I 100% knew I liked you since our kiss at the party..." His own eyes widen when he realised I was silent. "Actually, I don't-"
I cut him off, connecting our lips together. He kissed back immediately, our lips moving perfectly in sync. I pulled away, smiling. "Yeah, I like you, too."
I couldn't help but notice the blush on his cheeks, causing me to smile some more. "So, does that mean we're like, uh..."
"Dating?" I suggested and he nodded. "I mean, if you want, yeah."
He chuckled. "Heck yeah," we then sealed it with a kiss. So, I guess this is it; Stiles is my boyfriend and I'm his girlfriend. It made my stomach go insane.
I pulled away again and looked down at my books. "Study first, remember?" I remind him, causing him to frown. I smiled and looked back down at the book, flipping over a page.
"What's with all the highlighters, anyway?" Stiles questioned, noticing the amount of highlighting I had done in my pages.
I held up the green one. "Green is for the things I understand." I held the yellow highlighter in my other hand. "Yellow is for, I'm working on it, and..." I flipped over another page, revealing a red highlighter in the middle of the page. "Red means I have no clue. I'm mostly using red."
I looked back down at my page and sighed. Stiles leant closer to me, smiling and we connected our lips. I pulled back instantly, smiling. "Study first." I kept reminding him.
"Fine," he grumbled but sneaked in another kiss.
"So, what's the secret?" I asked as he pulls away. "Why is Math impossible for me and easy for you guys?"
"Because we usually use notes," Stiles informed me and I rolled my eyes.
I grabbed the notes that Lydia had given me. "Then somebody needs to give me notes on Lydia's notes because I don't understand any of this."
"Okay," Stiles agreed and holds the book in his head, scanning the papers with his eyes. "Um..." He then frowned. "Lydia wrote these?"
"Yeah," I answered, my hand resting on my cheek. "What are they?"
"They're not Math,"
