Chapter Fifteen

I watched as people in yellow suits come down the hallway not even an hour later, five of them to be exact. They all had big cases with them, all suited up from head to toe so they can't be exposed to this 'toxic' air.

Soon, big plastic tents around the school, with stretchers under them for those who are infected. We're going to be quarantined, I mentally groaned. Scott had gone to talk to Sydney in the tent, Kira, Stiles, Malia, and I all huddle around a desk in the classroom.

"But they're thinking smallpox," Stiles had informed us from what he's discovered.

"Not likely," my head turns to our teacher, Mr. Rhee who sits at his desk. I don't know why, but he just gives me the creeps, and not because of that voice. Just the way he continues to look over at our group, eyeing us. Something is off with him. "Smallpox was eradicated worldwide in 1979. We've only managed to completely eradicate two viruses in history, the other was rinderpest. It killed cows."

"So we should be comforted by that, right?" Stiles questions, a hint of sarcasm laced in with his voice making me smile.

"Unless it's something worse," Mr. Rhee speaks like he's hinting something.

"Whatever it is, they're taking it pretty seriously," Malia noted, sitting on top of the desk. "They're a lot of cars and trucks out there."

"We're doing the best we can," I had somehow caught Sheriff Stilinski's voice from the outside, I smiled slightly.

"Your Dad's with them," I gave my boyfriend a light smile.

Stiles removed himself from the desk. "Hey, I should probably call him," Stiles rummaged through the bagged phones on the desk.

"Don't bother," Mr. Rhee tells him, causing Stiles to stop rummaging through them. "They would have shut off any access to all outside communication by now." Mr. Rhee shrugs. "No cell service, no WiFi. No-one starting a panic. Looks like we're all just going to wait here and see what happens."

Is no one else high-key crept out by this man, or is he the only one making me feel uncomfortable?

I avoided the blood tests. I hated needles, they actually make me want to faint. Stiles had already taken him and we were at the back of the line now, he decided to wait with me, Malia and Kira were further ahead.

Mum's never ever taken me for a blood test. I wasn't completed sure why but for most of our life up until now, we've avoided the hospital. I think it has something to do we our DNA since it's different from humans.

"If I can do it, you can do it," Stiles tried to reassure me as I continue to stare down the line, eyeing the yellow suited doctors who are taking the tests.

"Stiles, I'm not nervous because I hate needles - well, I am, but that's not it," I speak quickly, then lowered my voice. "My Mum has avoided going to the hospital for basically my entire life, she refused. I think it's because lycanthrope DNA is different from human DNA."

His face falls slightly. "Oh, shoot, I didn't even think of that one."

"Uh-huh," I nod. "And what do you think they're gonna do when they discover something unusual about my DNA?"

"And not just yours," Stiles looked down the row, eyeing Kira and Malia, but before we could approach them and tell them our idea, Mr. Yukimura had grasped Stiles' shoulder, a worried look set on his face.

"It's Scott," Mr. Yukimura had informed us. Stiles and I stole each other glances before taking off with Mr. Yukimura to the locker room.

We had all regathered into the locker room. I watched as Scott's eyes glow in and out from red. "It's still happening." Mr. Yukimura had said.
