Chapter Twenty-Three
"It's not that she could still be alive,"
"It's that she would've faked her death."
It was the next morning, bright and early. Lydia, Stiles, and I had walked into Sheriff Stilinski's office, explaining Lydia's situation.
"Your Grandmother, Lorraine Martin, faked her death?" Sheriff Stilinski questioned, leaving the door opened.
"Definitely," my boyfriend eagerly said.
"Maybe," Lydia quickly said after him.
"More than likely, yes," Stiles muttered, slipping his hand into mine and we hide them behind our backs.
"Oh, it sounds like to me you got a story to back this up?" Sheriff Stilinski quizs, making me smile.
"She might be helping The Benefactor," I recalled the conversation we had earlier.
"Or is The Benefactor," Stiles adds in quickly.
"Sounds like a story worth hearing." Sheriff Stilinski had smoothly closed the door behind him. I tuned out from what my boyfriend and best friend had to say to Sheriff Stilinski, already hearing it.
"Wait, before we start this Deputy Parrish should probably be here," Stiles advises.
My eyes wander over to the corner of the room, a white glow comes from it making me perk up. All of a sudden, a pale face appears, looking a lot like Allison. She smiles at me. I was about to open my mouth to say something, claim that she is here and somehow alive until she quickly vanished into thin air.
Okay, what the fuck was that?
"Anybody seen Parrish?" Sheriff Stilinski's voice had snapped me back into reality, his head was outside the door. "Haigh?" I looked through the window to see Deputy Haigh sitting at the desk.
"Haven't seen him," Haigh speaks. I focused on his heartbeat, it had leapt a few times. I could see the sweat along his baby face.
He's definitely seen him, but I don't know why he's so nervous. Sheriff Stilinski nods and comes back inside.
"I'll be back," I huffed out, causing the others to watch me as I walked out of the door, closing it behind me. I walked carefully over to Deputy Haigh, whose eyes shifted to the computer in front of him. "Deputy Haigh,"
Deputy Haigh cleared his throat, looking up quickly and I noticed him clicking on the mouse. "Yes, er..."
"Addison," I speak sharply.
"Wait," Deputy Haigh had quickly said. "Addison Hale? That Addison?" I stayed quiet. "It is, isn't it? Daughter of Derek Hale and Vivian Argent?"
"Okay, how the hell do you know that?" I hissed, feeling rather crept out by him. He gave me a large smirk and I took a step back.
Oh God, he knows. He knows about the Deadpool. Now I know why he lied about Deputy Parrish, he killed him.
My heart quicken and I felt my shoulder being forced back, sending me practically to the wall. I stumbled into it, gasping and looking directly at Deputy Parrish, who is actually alive, ash was all over him, looking like he went through hell and back.
He looked angry. Deputy Haigh seemed just as surprise as he stands up quickly, his eyes widening. "Holy..." He grabbed for his gun, but Deputy Parrish rushes forward and pushes Deputy Haigh right into the back of the wall, a yelp leaving my lips.
I ducked when Deputy Haigh fires the gun, the loud shots filled my ear. I practically hugged the wall. "You're dead," I heard Deputy Haigh speaks, causing my eyes to widen. He didn't sound threatening, he sounded surprised.
